The Villages at LaFayette Park is an approximately 110-acre development three blocks west of the Old Courthouse Square in Fayetteville and bordered by State Hwy. 54 on the south and the Fayette County High School complex on the north. The developer, The Eagle Group, has described the concept as similar to Celebration in Florida. The infrastructure, including streets, water, sewer and drainage have been completed for the community, which will also contain several parks, commercial and office space, and The Villages Amphitheater. Ground was broken recently for the amphitheater, which will be a multiuse venue representing all aspects of the cultural arts and educational community. Located on a three-acre tract at the intersection of LaFayette Avenue and Tiger Trail, the amphitheater will share the parking lot at Fayette County High School.
