Though it seems as if summer just began, Southside Theatre Guild is getting kids ready to go back to school with their family production of "Good Morning, Miss Vickers."

The play, written by Steven Levi, is the first of a trilogy about students at a high school in East Bristol, Maine, and the ghost of former teacher Miss Amanda V. Vickers. The other two plays are "Merry Christmas, Miss Vickers" and "Hearts and Kisses, Miss Vickers." "Good Morning, Miss Vickers" introduces students Witney, Dale, Regan, C.J. and Ashley to the apparition of Miss Vickers who is described as a cross between Beetlejuice and Doc Brown of the Back to the Future movies after they are trapped in a time bubble in their school.

Being trapped in school is every student's nightmare but being trapped in a ghost school is even worse. It is up to the students to battle Miss Vickers, get back to their own time and get out of the school. Though there are ghosts in the show, the play also features lots of humor and is fun for the whole family.

"Good Morning, Miss Vickers" will run at Southside Theatre Guild in Fairburn, Thursdays-Saturdays, July 11-27, at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 on Thursday evenings and $12 for adults and $10 for children under the age of 12 on Friday and Saturday. To make reservations or get more information, phone 770-969-0956 or e-mail to boxoffice@atgplays.com.
