Theatre Guild presents play about women in Vietnam
Since the Vietnam
War ended, the tales of many people's experiences in the war has been
shared in many forms. Aside from the popular television program "China
Beach," the contributions that women made to the war effort have
gone seemingly unheralded. The military did not keep records of how
many women served during the war and only recently did the Vietnam War
Memorial add a part to the memorial that acknowledged the women who
died in Vietnam.

Opinion
It's
time to get started on re-redistricting
By CAL BEVERLY
Publisher
You may have read
in The Citizen last week that Fayette County is partly represented
by 10 state legislators. That's right in a county of more than 97,000,
we share 10 legislators with other counties: seven representatives
and three senators.
So,
are you a big failure already?
By
BILLY MURPHY
Laugh Lines
Take
this quick quiz to see if you have already failed in your New Year's
resolutions, or are just, generally, a failure.
LETTERS TO THE
EDITOR
Your
response needed on Clayton State survey
At Clayton College
& State University, we consider ourselves "Your University."
That's true whether you live in Peachtree City, Fayetteville, Brooks,
Tyrone, Morrow, Jonesboro, Griffin, Conyers, Stockbridge or anywhere
else in the Southern Crescent. Part of our commitment to the people
of south metro Atlanta is, as noted in our mission statement, "bringing
educational opportunities to the citizens and businesses of the Southern
Crescent..."
Librarians
learning Spanish is no favor to immigrants
I was disturbed
to read in Friday's Citizen Review that two of our ladies from the

State
flag is about principles, not the economy
Nick Ryder of
Griffin makes excellent points in his recent letter pleading with
those of us that support changing the Georgia flag back to its 1956
design to give up our quest. The most important point being his frustration
with patriotic Southerners that sat by in years past and allowed the
Confederate flag to be used as a tool of intimidation. I share that
frustration as well.
Flag
supporters still fight despite rejection, ignorance
Mr. Ryder's article
on the Georgia flag with the Confederate battle emblem was an unwarranted
attack on the Sons of Confederate Veterans and all the other Southern
heritage groups that have worked so hard for the past several years
to save the flag and to save many other Confederate memorials. Where
do you get off disgracing your Confederate ancestors by not fighting
for a fraction of the freedom they fought [for]?
Thanks
for helping seniors
I wish to thank
you on behalf of the seniors in Fayette County that benefitted from
this year's 8th annual Project Love through Fayette Senior Services.
Even in this rough economy you opened your hearts and showed what
a wonderful place Fayette County is to live in.
Response
to Lenox letter from PTC City Hall

The following was received from Peachtree City Hall last week. It
is reproduced in its entirety. The letters to the right and below
reference this document.]
New
authority must guard against mistakes of the past
Mayor and council
members, I am contacting you personally concerning the proposed creation
of the new Sports and Entertainment Authority. I am respectfully asking
one special favor for all Peachtree City citizens.
Where
does it say that Brown was elected king?
Below is a direct
quote from the official web site of Peachtree City.
Instead
of worrying about PTC mayor, check borders
I try to keep
up with both the local and Georgia news by reading the newspapers.
I can't help but laugh when I see the letters written about the mayor
of Peachtree City, and the traffic on Ga. Highway 54.
Citizen
part of 'good old boy' network harassing Brown
I don't know about
the other residents of Peachtree City, but I, for one, am sick and
tired of reading sour grapes editorials from Mayor Steve Brown's adversaries.
Yes, Mr. Lenox, we are all well aware of the fact that you are not
the least bit pleased at being ousted from your comfy little political
position by a logical, non-self-serving opponent.
PTC
has some problems with some police officers
Subject: Pro-good
cop. Father [David] Epps, almost weekly for more than one year now,
I've had thoughts of sending you an e-mail to tell you how much I
look forward to and enjoy your [columns] in The Citizen.
