The Chick-fil-A at Fayetteville Towne Center was recently recognized by the Marquis de Lafayette chapter of Sons of the American Revolution for its display and care of the American flag.

The SAR is an organization comprised of male descendants of Revolutionary War patriots. Its purposes are patriotic, historical and educational. One of the ways it promotes patriotism is through the honoring or organizations, businesses or individuals that properly care for and display the United States flag.

There are about 25,000 SAR members nationwide and the Lafayette chapter, based in Fayetteville, is the newest in Georgia, having received its charter last August. The Lafayette chapter meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Heritage Bank on North Jeff Davis Drive.
