Landmark students serve homeless mission

"Will you give me the coat off your back?" This was a question that was asked of Landmark Christian School's third-graders. Their response was, "Yes, and what other needs do you have?"

Mrs. Hermecz's third-grade class chose to help the homeless of Atlanta as one of their recent service projects. They were pleased to work through the ministry of the Blood-N-Fire homeless mission. The Blood-N-Fire ministry is not only committed to meeting the physical needs of Atlanta's homeless; but, more importantly, they present the message of Jesus Christ's redemptive life and death as it is preached, lived, and modeled daily by all who serve there. The mission provides food and shelter to homeless families and teaches them to be self-sufficient.

Mrs. Hermecz's class held a clothing and household items drive for Blood-N-Fire. Many Landmark students and their families contributed to the drive. The third-graders overflowed with excitement as they prepared to deliver the clothing and household items and take a tour of the shelter.

Their mood sobered a bit when they arrived and saw first hand the lives that they were touching. The students left with their eyes opened to seeing the homeless through a Christian worldview. They were grateful to be able to impact the world for Jesus Christ.
