FCHS wrestles well, holds alumni night next Tuesday

The Fayette Tiger Wrestling team won three matches this past weekend. The Tigers defeated Grayson 54-16, Heritage 52-19 and Winder Barrow 53-21. Winning all their matches were Thomas Lowery (103), Matt Kellerman (130), Stephen McElrath (135), Patrick Kellerman (145), Joe Stickland (171), Will Barnes (189) and Drake McCoy (275).

Next Tuesday night, Jan 28, the FCHS Wrestling Booster Club and wrestling team will be having an alumni night at their last home match of the season. Anyone who has been a part of the wrestling program in any way in the past is invited to come and enjoy the festivities. Some former coaches are already slated to come.

"We want to recognize all those who help build our program and let them watch our current wrestlers compete," said Coach Jim Bailey.

The team will face Westminster and Northgate that night. Matches start at 5:30 p.m. and recognition of former participants will begin about 7 p.m.
