Former Fayette resident Tony Lankford to be ordained at Baptist church in Cedartown

Tony Lankford, a 1988 graduate of Fayette County High School, will be formally ordained to the Gospel Ministry Sunday, Jan. 26, at Second Baptist Church in Cedartown.

Lankford, now serving the church as associate and youth pastor, graduated cum laude from Shorter College in Rome in 2002. For two years he received the Noble-Strivers Award for Excellence in Religious Education. He now attends the McAfee School of Theology, Atlanta, working toward a master of divinity degree. McAfee is a part of Mercer University.

Lankford and his wife, the former Tiffany Kerlin, make their home in Cedartown. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Danny Lankford, formerly of Fayetteville.

The ordination service will take place at 6:30 p.m. and will be under the direction of the Rev. Dr. Bill Heaton, Second Baptist pastor.
