William H. GreeneWilliam H. Green, 87, Kalamazoo, Mich., died Jan. 10, 2008. He was born Sept. 20, 1920 in Kalamazoo, son of the late William A. and Grace C. Lant Green. He had been a member of the Fellowship Class at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. In Kalamazoo, he was a member of Westwood Church of God. He was preceded in death by his fourth wife, Katherine and three brothers. Memorial services were at Kalamazoo with interment later in College Park, Georgia. Survivors include his first wife, Lillian; second wife, Joyce; and third wife, Patricia; children, Michael Green, Linda Johnson, David Blume, Darl Blume, Darlene Blume, and Patty; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was born Sept. 2, 1921 in Franklin, Ga., son of George and Henrietta Stephens. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ola Mae Geter, whom he had married Sept. 28, 1941. They were married 55 years. He joined the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Franklin, at an early age. He was a respected auto mechanic and a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge in Franklin. She was born April 19, 1916 in Randolph County, Ala., to the late William Jackson and Lydia Ann Wood Aldridge. William, 71, Newnan, died Jan. 3, 2008 after a struggle with cancer. He was born Sept. 24, 1936 at Fort Mills, Corregidor, The Philippines, son of Col. Robert Lockwood and Elsie Carlisle Williams. He was preceded in death by a son, Lockwood Carlisle "Chip" Williams, Peachtree City and Newnan. He graduated from Southwest Atlanta High School, and attended Georgia Tech studying civil engineering. He had worked for A. B. Dick and Xerox, and owned a Gulf Oil and a BP service stations for the next 28 years among other endeavors. He was a member of Cliftondale First United Methodist Church, the American Association of Woodturners and the South Metro Woodturners Association. He enjoyed activities at Lake Hartwell. He also enjoyed scuba diving, jet skiing, traveling abroad, attending his grandchildren's baseball games and dining out with friends on Tuesday nights. Richard GruttRichard "Dick" Grutt, 74, Peachtree City, died Dec. 24, 2007. He was born July 13, 1933 in Columbus, Ohio, son of Elery and Lanetta Kraft Grutt. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Grutt Davis in 2000. He attended the Miami of Ohio University and served in the United States Air Force for four years. Upon returning, he was graduated from Ohio State University in 1961. He was an avid OSU Buckeye football fan. He was employed for 15 years by Owens Corning Fiberglass in Newark and Granville, Ohio. Upon coming to Georgia, he was employed by Cardinal Industries in College Park as financial controller. In 1978 he started Grutt's Financial Service in Peachtree City. He loved to play golf and looked forward to playing with his Thursday morning group. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
