William Vergil Hammock, 81, Hampton, died Jan. 18, 2008. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Bill Scarbrough and the Rev. J. W. Wallis officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Forest Park. Survivors include his wife, Patsy Hammock, Hampton; children, William V. and Sandra Hammock, Fayetteville, Linda H. Ginn, Lake City, and Rick and Vicki Hammock, Clayton, Ga.; grandchildren, David Hammock, Will Hammock, and Alex Hammock; and a brother, Otis and Darlene Hammock, Knoxville, Tenn. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
