Gwendolyn "Gwen" Smith, 59, Griffin, died Jan. 7, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Eulah Carlton, Dale Carlton, Joan Carlton, and Kathy Hudler. Services were at Liberty Baptist Church, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Dr. Randy Wood officiating. Interment was at Griffin Memorial Gardens. Survivors include her husband, Wesley G. Smith, Griffin; a son, Paul W. and Melanie Smith, Molena; a daughter, Stephanie S. and Chad White, Fayetteville; grandchildren, Hayden Smith, Anna Smith, Gabriel Smith, Kaitlyn Smith, Grace Smith, and Philip Smith, all of Molena, and Garrett White and Molly White, both of Fayetteville; brothers, John and Bonnie Carlton, Lee and Dana Carlton, and Philip Carlton, all of Maryland; and a sister, Louise and Harvey Wagner, Belair, Md. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
