Semilegaleagle: Waterboy, Say What?

Appreciate some of your sentiments, but have a question...What in the world is a "Petofile"....someone who has a fear of "high" gasoline prices? You might try "spell check" next time.

Waterboy: Replying to the Moron's

Excuse my attempt to elevate your thought process by using humor - I guess I have to spell it out for some people. I do not have a problem with Law Enforcement going after petofiles - I do however feel this is a job that can best be handled by the GBI or FBI rather than a grand-standing Police Captain using city money for his own glory.

LindaLiberty: Future Value under FairTax and current

Because I'm a nerdy kind of person and just love doing spreadsheets etc I worked out a spreadsheet to compare investments under the 2 systems - here are the results based on investing $50/month for 20 years at 5% - you would have approx an extra $7,500 to pay for your child's education - with no restrictions on use etc. I live in Florida and we have Florida Bright Future scholarships which pay full tuition and fees - but if you started out putting your money in one of the education IRA's and your child got the scholarship you would have to pay taxes on the whole thing because you can only use them for tuition and fees and that is being paid for. So much less complex to save your own money the way you CHOOSE to. Here's a copy of the spreadsheet:

Since I am sure some others will ask questions on posting, again, I thought this blog might help.

Hey, Cal, I am sure you have sticky or announce abilities. How about making this one or the other to keep it from falling down the page?

Anyone else notice that the speed limit on Rockaway has changed three times in 3 weeks. Went from 45 to 35. From 35 to 45.

May have been asked, but I didn't see it.

What is to stop the Big Companies from transferring sales tax, that would otherwise be paid by CEOs, to the consumers by making such as cars, planes and such compensation?

Man the smell is bad tonight, we have not smelled it for a few days to this degree and this might be the worst night yet. I assume they are making up for the lost processing time when the media and the PSC reps from Washington state were here. Can't process when the big dogs are around, they might get a little sick you know! Anyway, I took my son outside for about 1 minute earlier, he is 2 1/2, and before we could get back inside his eyes were swollen, puffy and red. But PSC is not still processing I forgot....yeah right.

fayettesouth: The Kiss of Death!

Just so you guys know, two years ago, I made a conscious decision to always vote for the candidate that Cal Beverly did not endorse.

fayettesouth: Does Dunn really care about Fayette?

Well let me start by answering the question: NO!!!!!

I will expound on this. Mr. Dunn, before the election of this past Tuesday, was an ardent supporter of all of the N. Fayette residents that have recently be forced to live with the obnoxious (if not dangerous) cloud and stench of the chemical eminating from within Fulton County just to our north. Mr. Dunn said that he would do everything within his power to resolve this problem.

PTC Guy: What Maxwell Will Do

PTC Guy's picture

Folks, guessing may be fun, but it is pointless.

We will see.

But let us have the smarts to keep an eye on things from the beginning. Don't let how the Commission functions fall off the radar.

mapleleaf: Expected fallout from Maxwell victory

mapleleaf's picture

With Maxwell ousting Dunn on the Fayette county commission, here’s what we can expect:

(1) The immediate result may be a very discouraged Linda Wells who might well be considering leaving her post with Dunn at the end of the year, giving up the fight one way or another. Remember Harold Bost, who resigned a few months after being reelected. Talented as she is, Linda may well decide she does not need this job and the aggravation of putting up with the senile Herb Frady.

bobby1378: Idiot Drivers

The new area on Hwy 92 South in front of the Police station was intended to EASE traffic. This is a great idea. Someone should have notified the IDIOTS who drive that strech of road daily of that idea. If you are traveling south on 92, you come to the traffic light and there happens to be a line of cars in the right hand lane and you move to the left hand lane to help the FLOW of traffic you would hope that when it comes time to merge over into the right lane someone would allow this..........WRONG WRONG WRONG.

gstar223: Publix Alert!!!!!

PUBLIX ALERT!
I recently wrote a check at Publix on 54 for an estimated $21.00 over the amount of the grocery purchase last week. I was hit with a service fee for doing such a thing. I only noticed it when the cashier counted my change back to me. Old saying… ”no shirt, no service”, New saying…. “You charge fee, no more me”. No notice, no warning, no apologies, just be aware that Publix on 54 (at least) charges for writing a check over the amount of the purchase.
