the weasel: The electionI have been trying to look into various issues to determine who to vote for, primarily in the commission election. I'm leaning toward Dunn & Wells and have not found any reason to change at this point. Most of what I see in these blogs is personal - Eric is a nice guy. Greg is a mudslinger-emperor, etc. Well, I'm not voting for someone to be my friend. It doesn't really matter to me whether they are a nice guy or not. Of course I want someone respectable - I'm looking for leaders who will look after and act in our best interest as a county. After looking back over various issues I can find no fault in anything that has been done by the current commissioners. No, I don't agree with everything, but for the most part they have done a great job. Janet: Oops, missed the Citizen Candidate Forum deadline...Oops, we goofed and missed the deadline for the Citizen Candidate Forum. We felt that the Forum was very important, so we bought an ad (in the printed version of the Wednesday Citizen Newspaper). Since you can't see the ad on-line, Greg's Forum submission is posted below. Thanks for all the continued and growing support from the great citizens of Fayette County! doc: The liberal Karen Handel.John Munford: Vietnam: the real dealI may have been 12 or 13-ish when my now deceased father told me this, but I'll never forget it. He served in Vietnam, and he said it was nothing "to walk around the streets and see a 13-year-old kid point a gun at him and say [I'll delete the expletive]: FU GI." lifeinptc: I voted today, the people voting in advance worried me.I went to Stonewall Village today and voted early taking advantage of Advanced Voting. What I witnessed worried me and I don't know the solution to the problem. loveptc: Trash water & sewerI live in a complex that uses a company outside of GA to bill us for these services. I am hoping that some of the private home owners in PTC will tell me what they are paying for these services. shefcom: New Kid on the BlockGood Morning All, I will be moving to the area in the next few weeks, I am a photographer currently living in Wilmington NC. PTC Guy: Multiple IdentitiesCould admin run a sweep and see how many, if any, people are posting with mutiple identites from the same IP? If they are, and not different people within one house, can you either block all but one or ban some folk? bladderq: Tyronne PooliceI don't know whether I saw Starsky & Hutch or One Adam 12 at 6 pm. I had had a few pints watching the World Cup and was on my way to Johnny Winter in ATL. bladderq: Ralph Reed. Why?Can anyone tell me why they would vote for Ralph Reed? My central question to all this has been, "Why has he not given back the $4 million dollars he recieved?" If he knew now...I wouldn't have taken this business. Peter Pfeifer: Republican BreakfastHere’s a report. I just returned from the monthly Republican Breakfast at the IHOP in Fayetteville. The first speaker was Ralph Reed, candidate for Lt. Governor. The second speaker was Stan Wise, incumbent candidate for Public Service Commission. The third speaker was the husband of Karen Handel, who is a candidate for Secretary of State. PTC Guy: PiedmontI asked as a reply, but it seems to have gotten lost in the shuffle. A number of doctors and others have said such things a Piedmont is way more expensive than other hospitals and the care is often not good. mapleleaf: Republican referendum, an IQ test for votersThe July 18 ballot for the Republican primary provides an IQ test for the voters. Like for all tests, we need to prepare. So here are the questions, and a few ideas on what the answers ought to be. oodlesOpoodles: Things I need to saySo all the illegal campaign signs that were on GA HWY 74 in front of the Shell Station and the Neighborhood Community Bank were taken down. Then today I noticed that Dan Lakly put his back up. Right in FRONT of the blue fire hydrant again. Hello Code Enforcement...He is putting them up in the Right of Way. I thought that was not allowed. I thought they could only be on private property. Right of Way is not private property. And you would think someone running for public office would know the rules. The Citizen: 2 girls found safe -- thanksOlivia has just called home, she and her friend are OK. The police dept. has them, we are on our way to get them. Thank you for helping when we felt like there was no help...and had little belief in community assistance. PTC Guy: Intolerance Versus Strong FeelingsI actually am only going to make the opening posts here. Why? Because I know a number of liberals are immediately going to attack my posts. Reality Bytes: Islamists, Extremists and Sam ChapmanWell, friends and neighbors, we come again to our favorite salvo of stupidity, the Citizen blogosphere, chock full of that insipid "intelligence" provided by those who should really work in data entry. mikgup: EEOCThe EEOC was very clear that they ARE NOT responsible for cases of retaliation. Did they discriminate against me? the weasel: These blogsThese blogs could actually be helpful and informative if people knew what they were talking about. I hope no one takes John Munford: Simmer down, you crazy lunaticsSome of you out there need to be sedated. Truly. What sent me over the edge was the post from bad_ptc saying that Commissioner Peter Pfeifer shouldn't drink wine and e-mail at the same time. tsk tsk: Have a little Funn with Dunnbuzztech86: Taco Mac rocks! As a long time fan of both $3 Cafe and Taco Mac when I lived previously in the Sandy springs/Buckhead area, I was very disappointed to hear all the recent negative comments about PTC's new $3 Cafe location. mlc2028: BCBSGA-PiedmontI'm really surprised that there's been little written over the fact that the BCBCGA contract with Piedmont expired 6/30/06. Mrs Mike Pruitt: Drug Agent's Wife Speaks w/Greg Dunn:October, 2005: Capt. Mike Pruitt made an online purchase for work clothing. gailonesi: Illegal problem made easy? Not too long ago,in the South, they had county farms, and chain gangs. The concept was that you did not sit idle in a jail cell and it paid for your keep. mapleleaf: Billie Jo and Bubba talk about politicsBillie Jo: Hey, Bubba, what do they do out there in the Georgia legislature? Bubba: You mean the Georgia General Assembly? nrse500: Greg, two women were your demiseI am actually a former friend and fan of Greg Dunn. I don't admit that in public anymore, I don't care to be laughed at. Two women ruined your career Greg, Linda Wells and Janet. You had the best of intentions initially, most of us know that. Then Linda began to use you and you failed to recognize it. tikigod: I want to make a good decision.....I know that most if not all of what comes out of a politician's mouth is BS, so who am I to believe. Other than the clayton/fulton invasion (what are we gonna do about that folks!! *tollroads*), I am happy with the current state of Fayette county. We could be way more developed than we are now. I am sure the second that developers have the opportunity, they will develop the county to max capacity. Something must be blocking massive development. I cannot vote for anyone that will change that. Both candidates say they wont. One has a pretty good track record, the other has none. And the other is a lawyer.... So I would logically believe that the one with the good (not perfect) track record would be the one to go with. cmh1023: An opinion from a different view-The tragic death of Dallas CrenshawI do not mean to "jump" into this seemingly heated battle between the older (and I quote) "40-year-old prozac poppin" people or the "Thug-life wannabe" community so I would like to share my personal first-hand experience with parties, drugs, and the "Tragedy That Burst the Bubble." Just weeks before I will be attending a very reputable service academy to play basketball I decided to stop by a party at a friend's house to say my last goodbyes. rmoc: Quotes for July 4th--need I say more"That government is best which governs the least, because its people discipline themselves." - Thomas Jefferson "I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them." - Thomas Jefferson |
