Simmer down, you crazy lunatics

John Munford's picture

Some of you out there need to be sedated. Truly.

What sent me over the edge was the post from bad_ptc saying that Commissioner Peter Pfeifer shouldn't drink wine and e-mail at the same time.

In other words, bad_ptc couldn't come up with a smart retort so he resorted to name calling.

Is it too much to ask for a little civility round these parts? Some of you need to hit the links, go cow tippin or something.

Thanks to the rest of you who stick to the facts in general. Opinions are OK too just remember there's always going to be somebody disagreeing with you.

Just don't resort to the equivalent of a raspberry: "Ha, you're drunk!" You end up looking like a mental patient with all that drool hanging off your lips. Eye-wink

This is a great advice for blogger NUK! The guy doesn't have a nice bone in his body, and he's willing to prove it.

Are you satisfied with what you attempted to start?

I can see from the responses that I wasn’t that far off of the mark with my replies.

After speaking with some friends we decided that your original blog entry was repudiation for my incessant hounding over the “VALUE” issue. So be it. If I can’t take what I dish out, than I’m no good to anyone.

However, if you have read the blogs, I believe I have proven my point.

For Peter, please don’t drink an post.

Hey there bad_ptc. I got on your case just because you were the most recent example.

Believe it or not, I have a life beyond the computer and beyond the newsroom. I don't have time nor the energy to keep up with who is posting from what screen name.

I do value the overall input that I get from users on the web site because as a print journalist, this is something I'm not used to getting in this type of volume. I like it, and I do feel it keeps me in touch with what the community at large is thinking.

One can drink wine and e-mail at the same time if they want to do so. One can go to the Amphitheater and drive a golf cart carrying wine and drive it at the same time if they want to do so. In the first case the PTC police blogger person may get you; and in the second case the whole police administration may get you. I think some local power brokers (Chiefs, Sheriffs, etc) may be taking their lead from Washington, DC these days---just do what you want to do, because 55% of all voters are on our side no matter what we do!

Dead one, haven’t you ever heard “Never argue with people that buy ink by the barrel”?

Actually I have to admit that if Cal were to ban anybody he would most likely start with me. I gave him a rash the other week to the point that he had to come to the rescue of a reporter via a blog.

Anyway when better judgment has a hold over me, I’m listening to Aerosmith while I’m typing this, I will attempt to refrain from being too offensive.

But when Peter Piper steps in it with both feet, for some unknown reason, I loose it. Na, I know the reason.

You are probably right, Dog with a Bone. I even got reprimanded (and edited) by Cal the other day. Furthermore, my hackers tell me that PTC Guy, Git Real and my cousin DragNut are most probably alter egos of those who run this pamphlet. I'll follow your advice and will try to refrain, as I already feel I'm in the Gulag. If you don't see my pretty face around here anymore, it means I got silenced and Mc Carthy rules.

John

Great points, too bad the message will fall short of reaching the Fayette Mob (Bullies). After all they control this website. The non-MOB posting's of comments and opinions that do not meet or exceed the Fayette MOB (bullies) goals, political focus, endorsed candidate lists or agenda's be prepared and have some thick armor.

This group of bullies will hunt you down like a pack of dogs thru intimidation - name calling - banning you and your comments from THEIR website - etc) the weak will eventually yield to their tactics and undeserving relentless pressure.

It's too bad, this could be a good forum to share knowledge, assistance, community information and factual data. The problem is the comment section has become a political war zone for the MOB, not a forum for open debate.

Your effort and time is appreciated by the non-mob members

Love and Kisses

and I'm no doubt one of many. It has nothing to do with being self-righteous, dumb, or lacking nothing of importance to say. It has to do with not lowering one's self to their level. It has to do with not opening ourselves up to verbal abuse giving them yet another cheap thrill.

I admit I often come to read what these bullies have to say. But I log off with a sick feeling in my stomach at the sheer meanness covering this board. It's just unnecessary.

So have at it, I can take it. But you're pushing other people away that could benefit the whole community coming to this site. Not you, but the rest of the community because you absolutely refuse to actually listen to what anyone else has to say. I've learned that personally. You didn't shut me up, I will just refuse to repeat myself over and over again to a deaf ear.

If you feel that way why do you even bother?

If you feel that you’ve been bullied, grow a back bone and stand up for your self. Better yet, just go away.

The great thing about this kind of communication is that everyone is equal. If you find yourself in disagreement with what someone posts here, TELL them, TELL all of us.

Quit being a sorry, ”oh they might pick on me”. If you have something to say, say it! Quit standing in the shadows and whishing it would be different. Make a difference.

This place would not dry up and blow away, believe me. The meek and past MOB outcast's would return without hesitation.

Casey, Self righteous ? never been my style - I do enjoy reading clean, thoughtful and factual debate on issues - if that is self righteous then I guess I do fall into that group on Non-Mob type.

If you are talking politics - I don't have a position to be For or Against any of the candidates - bless them all to put up with the trashing and name calling they receive from this site, probably 90% ugly from the MOB.

I guess when you run for public office you are free game, hit them with your best shot, what a great way to live and then go to worship on Sunday. Individuals no longer have to follow ethic's, value's or morals, these are candidates no rules pull no punches.

I read different blogs where the (MOB) dog pack attack's their prey and there is no reason to be cruel and ugly.

Self righteous? No, a human being who cares - maybe

If you don’t have an opinion, or you’re not willing to share it and back it up. then just don’t log-on and simply be a curser.

For the rest of us, we will tell you what we think, no holds bared.

Get off the fence and take a stand. You’re opinion counts, if you post it we might listen. If you don’t, than don’t expect us to care what you babble.

If Cal get’s tired of “us”, perhaps I should just list myself, he could ban me in a hart beat.

It’s the don’t know anything’s, don’t care to learn anything’s, they might pick on me types, we have no use for.

Grow a backbone and tell us what you think.

P.S. Be able to back it up.

Here's one of my opinion's and what I think -

You Act Like this IS YOUR WEBSITE ? I take it WE means the fayette county (MOB) dog pack / Bullies

Taken from bad_ptc comments above

we will tell you what we think
if you post it we might listen.
If you don’t, than don’t expect us to care what you babble
they might pick on me types, we have no use for.
Grow a backbone and tell us what you think

You are unbelievable - sound like an open forum that I cannot wait to jump into along with the other hundreds sitting on the sidelines watching.

You are a Pack of Dogs (MOB) If someone does not agree with the Fayette Mob's political, social and sometimes religious views - the bully tactics are employed.

Starts with name calling - and if the issues have anything to do with politics or the up coming elections ! If you are on the wrong side of the Mob's agenda, watch out, it's open season. There are no punches pulled, you'll be accused of disguising your login or called Janet or Dunn supporter or "it must be election time" or "she's being coached" etc etc.

What a nice pack of dogs (bullies) you represent to the outside world.

That's my point - if you don't want to here the sermon again, then don't ask for my opionon.

There's room for one more Alice in this Wonderland.

I’m glad you decided to stick it out.

Again I will say that there is no MOB, a pack maybe, but no MOB.

If you have an opinion about something anyone posts then please tell us.

Think of it as your own personnel contribution to fighting ignorance.

Like I tell my employees, if you want me to back you up, then convince me. Sell me on the idea that what you have is the right choice. Prove me wrong! I’ve never hired a “Yes” person, I only hire great people.

And yes, I am a B$%ch to work for, every defeat is mine but every victory is shared.

I kind of like Casey's name calling. Being called a Mobster is kind of cool don't you think.

I have to remark on a this quote you made. "And yes, I am a B$%ch to work for, every defeat is mine but every victory is shared". I've never heard that before but I can assure you it will be said in my business from here on out. It makes a point and speaks much truth.

I've never had an employee quit.

Some hate me, but they won't quit, and I won’t fire them.

I did the corporate thing where everybody kissed the ring of the boss. NOT.

Like I said, I only hire great people.

During the 80’s the catch phrase was “Customers make pay days possible”. That’s pure BS!

What makes pay days possible are GREAT employees.

It’s a misnomer that you need to spend huge amounts of money in “customer service” and “marketing”. Tom Peters had a book called “WOW The Customer” that I’ve used as my mantra for several years.

It basically boils down to give the customer more than what they asked for. Literally WOW them. Do that and you will never have to spend another dime on customer service and/or marketing. Your customers will do it for you, for free.

or called Janet or Dunn supporter

Is that an insult? To be called "Janet" or "a Dunn supporter?"

Is it worse than being called a pack of dogs or bullies?

Submitted by lifeinptc on Fri, 07/07/2006 - 2:47pm.

You would have seen real bullies. When Greg, Janet, Linda and Peter thought they were going to win their lawsuits and their elections they were brutal to anyone who didn't agree with them, especially anyone having anything to do with the Sheriff's Office. If you're not Janet and your new to the page you're seeing the backlash of months of Janet bashing. The stuff now-a-days is tame compared to back then. Janet is obviously someone who loves to dish it but hates to eat it. If it seems ugly now you could not have handled back then.

Good morning John.

Please read the posts in the “order” that they were posted and pay special attention to what post was replied to.

If you do, you will see that the email and merlot was not even a reply to Peters post.

I find it strange that a good “journalist” would not be able to follow the posts in chronological order.

I just hope your math is better.

C'mon bad_ptc. Math has NOTHING to do with this. Your post had the subject line "Let's get Peter a gift." So you weren't slamming him?

Then you posted the link to the figurine of someone swilling from the wine bottle while e-mailing.

Maybe you meant to say let's get pestofplanterra that gift.

Whatever.

Submitted by nrse500 on Thu, 07/06/2006 - 12:05pm.

I was just pointing out that I thought Pfiefer was out in left field on the North Korea and Iran thing. I still think that. I didn't think they even found any wrong doing with the Sheriff and I thought the Judge said he didn't have to let the county tell him how to do his purchasing.

At any rate how would any of that equate to two men playing with nuclear weapons putting us on the brink of World War III. That's an outrageous statement and it was made by a sitting elected offical. He should have been called on it.

bad_ptc's picture
Submitted by bad_ptc on Thu, 07/06/2006 - 8:11am.

Good morning John

You are correct in that I was aiming at Peter. When someone is that far out in left field, heading for the fence, a little humor is the only way to address it.

I believe it was way past Peters bed time when he started typing his post and that is exactly what the figurine is trying to convey. When you’re not in good form, don’t email or post. Peter was definitely NOT in good form.

The WEB address I posted is to the Congressional report that the USDoJ filed.

Peter wrote: “I find your faith in “federal regulations” and federal bureaucrats quite touching. The rest of us live in a different world however.” I can now only conclude that Peter not only has a problem with the Sheriff but with the justice system in total.

I wonder if Peter now thinks that this is just a grand conspiracy out to get him.

If Peter and the other Commissioners think that spending our tax money on a forensic audit is going to turn up something that the USDoJ either missed, overlooked or is intentionally hiding, than yes he may be suffering from some form of “email and merlot” influence.
