Islamists, Extremists and Sam ChapmanWell, friends and neighbors, we come again to our favorite salvo of stupidity, the Citizen blogosphere, chock full of that insipid "intelligence" provided by those who should really work in data entry. What do you people do all day that allows you to proselytize from your PC for hours on end? I would really love to have your jobs, because with all the postings you do, you must really not have that much going on. So there's going to be a mosque, or a Jamarkhana, as it is more properly called. Let's remember, kiddies, there's a mosque already in Fayetteville, one block away from the Courthouse (perhaps you forgot of the Muslim Community Center at the former A&T Grocery location?). So any argument or assertion that there aren't sufficient populations in the area to support any particular sect or denomination from moving into our precious county hold no water. So what? If you're "scared" that the "wrong element" is coming into our area, be it a fear mongoring element or Christian God-opposing element, I've really got some simple advise for you. Move. If you really believe that this particular building is going to house such an "intolerant, dangerous" religion, please do your part to pack a bag, get in your car, and drive south about 100 miles. Find yourself a good hunk of 40 acres, fence it off, hook up your satellite and wait for the Martians to arrive. But, you're entitled to your opinion, all those of you who post such insubstantial, falsely educated drivel such as the things I have lately read on this, um, "forum". I hope none of you own firearms, because I sincerely fear for my life after reading some of this crud. OK, now that we're done picking on PTC Guy... It's election time again, time for the senior citizens, rotary club members and a few wackos that make up 20% of our total population make decisions for the rest of us. This time out, we've got the general, the lawyer, the lady, the CPA and the putz. Sam - do us all a favor, tell your Dad you want to open a bank branch in Conyers and go ride horses there. I've read your website (wow - you ATTENDED two colleges), and I see why you've put out so many signs...you're praying no one actually LISTENS to what you have to say. This is a quote from one of Mr. Chapman's missives (that means letters for those of you who know the author personally): I believe that we should be accountable for the taxes people pay. That means, at the end of the year, people should perceive that their lives are better off because we were good stewards of what we were given. Kids, you shouldn't actually BE better off, you should perceive that you are, even if you're really not. When I read that, I stopped for a moment, called one of my friends, and asked him to read it, just to make sure I wasn't on some sort of hallucinogen. Yeah, that's what he wrote, all right. So Sam, please quit. As for the rest of them, would you prefer the devils we already have or the devils we don't know. As some of you may remember, I'm all for change - let's try the new guys. So don't actually do any research, just go out on July 18th and press you nose up against the screen for Jack Smith and Eric (K) Maxwell. Oh, and if you live in North Fayette County, there's a democrat running, too. Yeah, I know, I thought it was funny, too. Dan Lakly isn't selling us down the river this year, so I guess he can keep his representative license plate a few more years. For school board, I'll just pick the shortest name. I recommend you do that too. It just makes it easier on the press when they have to type. OK, cats and kittens, I've about had enough whining on this blog for now. If you care to write, please feel free to post whatever witty comebacks you have regarding race, creed, color, religion, sex or the decline of Peachtree City as a utopian model below. Have fun!
