Piedmont

PTC Guy's picture

I asked as a reply, but it seems to have gotten lost in the shuffle.

A number of doctors and others have said such things a Piedmont is way more expensive than other hospitals and the care is often not good.

Our one experience with it was, indeed, not good.

I would appreciate others feelings on Piedmont versus Newnan, in example.

We are trying to make decisions about BC and so on.

Thanks!

Had 1 out patient surgery at Piedmont Fayette in 2000-was not happy with the aftercare. They pushed me out the door and I was still heavily sedated and unable to walk. Bad experience. Mean spirited nurse.
Never been an in patient there.
Had 1 in patient experience at Newnan. Treated well, preferred their care over Piedmont.
Family has had several trips to Piedmont emergency room. Have had good and bad experiences-mostly bad due to the 4+ hour long waits, more often than not. Understand emergencies and all but they are understaffed and too small facilities.
Never been to Newnan emergency room.
Good luck, glad I changed from BCBS 2 years agao and don't have this dilema.
Started taking my kids to the Childrens Healthcare immediate care clinic in Morrow. 25 minute drive but they are fantastic and have usually been seen within 20 minutes.

Seems to be a pattern.

Over the last three years our family has had two surgeries and at least five ER visits at Piedmont Fayette with no complaints whatsoever. Yes, we were in the ER for many hours on some of those visits, but some people have unrealistic expectations. Let's face it, if someone comes in with a heart attack, it takes a large group of ER staff to save his/her life and is a high priority situation. We were in the ER once on a Saturday and saw children of all ages in various sports uniforms coming in with injuries. Someone needs to open a weekend sports injury clinic to thin out the crowd at the hospital ER, or perhaps the parents should be told to go to an immediate care facility and not clog up the hospital ER with non-life threatening injuries.

Almost every nurse, doctor, or other staff member we have dealt with at Piedmont Fayette has been kind and helpful. I am tired of hearing people bash our hospital all the time. No, I do not have any friends or relatives who work there.

Do you actually want everyone's insurance premiums to increase? No way BC/BS can pay what Piedmont wants without increasing premiums or cutting coverage. Cutting a few execs salary won't help but little. The hospitals must decrease costs, not quality. They are terribly inefficient and many, many make way too much money.

god wants you to go to a Clayton Co hospital to learn religious tolerance. I had a very good neuro-surgeon from India.

I don't need to go there for a good oriental born doctor. I already have one excellent neurologist just across the road from Piedmont.

And one from Pakistan did surgery on me years ago.

Tolerance and intolerance mean agreeing and not agreeing with you to you. Get a dictionary and find out what the words really mean someday.

We are being took here. If either side cared whether or not we were going to eventually pay more, either to BC or to Piedmiont (the end getter)we would be allowed to see the points of contention and their costs. Has any of you ever seen them? No, and you won't. It does baffle me at the number of people who don't care how much Piedmont demands, just what BC wants! Odd. All other insurance conmpanies are watching this outcome, also. Especially the other hospitals are watching it, closely. Wake up people, the medical industrial complex is bleeding us to death.

I wouldn't spend too much time trying to compare Piedmont with Newnan. An article in the AJC the other day stated that the Piedmont purchase of Newnan was back on track.
Woof

I didn't see that one.

Thanks for the info.
