Walmart or Publixs

I dont know about the rest of you but when I go into a publixs my wallet is empty when I leave. There prices are cray. I can go to Walmat fill my cart up and spend half what it would cost at publix.

I hate Wal-mart. I haven't been inside a Wal-mart in about 3 years. I'll go any other place to avoid going there. All the brands they carry are CHEAPO.

Target Rocks! I love going to the Super Target on McDonough Road with the Starbucks inside. The place is super clean, and they have great sales on their groceries. You can sip on a Frappachino while you shop. Excellent customer service, shelves always stocked, really unique items. I used to go early in the am after I dropped my kids off for school, the employees there were always having their morning meeting, and EXERCISES, stretches and the like. I thought it was a great concept. They always had smiles on their faces.

PUBLIX is very much customer oriented also. The BEST Publix on the south side of Atlanta used to be the Lovejoy Publix. Since I moved to Fayette, I've gone to the newer one in South Fayette. Their bakery stuff is excellent, they also have great wine sales. That is my regular grocery store now.

I'm not sure people in Fayette know how nice their Publix is.

Not so long ago, I was coming down to F'ville every other day to care for a sick relative. I would often stop at the Publix at the Pavillion (not a fan of the place itself) to pick up something. Almost every time I was treated courteously and given great service. The aisles were clean and the variety appreciated. Compared to a number of grocery stores I've been to in my neck of the woods, the Fayetteville Publix is wonderful. The one I frequent in Toco Hills is equally great.

Are they more expensive than Wal-Mart? Yes. But I'm willing to pay it to avoid the chaos, lack of cashiers and poorly organized aisles (not to mention some of their questionable business practices) any day.

The new Target in PTC opened this week. Went there yesterday. Every aisle you went down, someone was there saying "can I help you find something?" I finally wanted to scream "leave me alone!" We walked away from our empty cart for maybe 1 minute and it was gone. They are really on thier toes! We'll see how it is on down the road after the grand opening on Sunday when everyone knows thier open. I think I will go to Target instead of Walmart from now on because of traffic. Prices are about the same.

While you get help at the Fayetteville store, you have to hunt it down first.

We will check it out when the newness wears off a bit.

Why is it that all of Walmart's organic products never get marked down and are all expired on the shelves?! I saw 5 different items expired and there were about 20 of each items still on the shelf.

if you use coupons. Overall, WalMart is cheaper on all items but going there is such a pain in the behind.

As for you, cowtipn and gitreal, maybe other people are getting tired of hearing the same arguments OVER and OVER and OVER about the blasted elections. You can repeat yourselves over and over again and because it's a more "intellectual" conversation, it must be ok. Gitreal, "git" off your high horse and cowtipn, your head out of the cow's behind.

I will try and put on my kind side while I put my 2cents worth in. I am obviously, normally a blunt and to the point person. Because I know how sickening all of this political stuff can be I will give you my opinion as to why it won't stop until August 8th.

The community this forum represents is in the middle of some very important elections. They are being heavily debated in between Wal Mart, Publix and Kroger. The feel good stuff is a good buffer to the rest of it but which is more important?

After the elections I will tell you how much I love Publix and how Kroger sent their chain down the tubes when they canned twenty year President Paul Smith. Research that if you want and you and I will have a fun discussion after the election.

On another subject and to save myself a second posting. GR, Peter in drag, OMG, LOL funny.

If you succeed to shut the other side up and succeed in silencing them and their repetitive babble then I will gladly step aside on the election issues and shut up. Don't you think we are tiring of repeating the same FACTS OVER and OVER and OVER again???? Hold the other side to the same standards and require them to "start" stating the truth and you will not have to listen to me OVER and OVER and OVER again. Or would criticizing Linda's camp and holding them to the same standard defeat your purposes hear?

My dear, Git Real..... To tell you the truth, I don't even know who Linda is. I guess you thought I was one of those followers of hers or someone pretending to be someone else that you keep talking about? I honestly couldn't care less about this election. I was picking on you because you were picking on someone else. That's all but good try!
Oh, and if you have any ideas to get the others to shut up about it, I'm all ears.

You boys are losing your touch. This is all vintage Janet.

To tell you the truth, I don't even know who Linda is.

Ha! But of course you've read all the posts because...

I guess you thought I was one of those followers of hers or someone pretending to be someone else that you keep talking about?

so how can you not know who Linda is?

And then there's her standard denial:

That's all but good try!

and this has become one of her standards as well:

Oh, and if you have any ideas to get the others to shut up about it

This is classic paranoia.

You boys are losing your touch. This is all vintage Janet.

I don't know who Janet OR Linda is!

Ha! But of course you've read all the posts because...

I have not read all the posts! I do not waste my time when I see it is about this election. I'm too busy to waste my time on an election that does not apply to me.

so how can you not know who Linda is?

I read some of that when all of the election talk got started because it did seem interesting at the time. But, it got boring, so I stopped.

And then there's her standard denial:

That's all but good try!

and this has become one of her standards as well:

Oh, and if you have any ideas to get the others to shut up about it

Seriously, sir....You might need some medication.

They didn't get the memo that you are an innocent by-stander just throwing a little gas on the fire for s#*ts and giggles. Understand though if you did read all of the election garbage over the recent months you (being a seemingly bright person with a good dose of wit about you)would easlily have labeled Janet as the one on meds.

Hope your having a great day. Sounds like you guys need to start kicking some school board and staff a$$ over the perfomance of some of your schools. Man, what gives? Ooops! Whole different topic. I'd like to see that cranked up in a seperate blog. I know too many kids that attend schools in Coweta Co.

My kids are not quite into the school system yet. My daughter will be going to a private kindergarten next year, however. I'm not looking forward to having to deal with the public school system. I have not heard good things about it either. I spoke with a lady who just moved here and put her son in East Coweta High. He asked her if she was trying to turn him into an idiot.

Public school is not a picnic. I have the grey hairs to prove it!

Glad mine is even out of college now.

I have my kids in a public school in Fayette and for the moment I have to say I couldn't be any happier. With that said our family does not have our heads buried in the sand and are watching the situation closely. Who knows, in a few years we may be forced into home schooling or a private school. Your situation, Christi, shook me as I thought Coweta's system was better than the results have indicated. Of course I don't know the schools or the demographics but I guess you could check closely as to the status of the one your kiddo's might be going to.

Although I would be embarassed to admit that I didn't care about the elction unless you don't live in Fayette County then I would be on your side and say that I didn't care about the election either because it does not affect me and I couldn't vote in it and so what would be the point cause I would be bored with this discussion too. WHEW!

I don't mind you picking on me. Most of the time I deserve it. But Miss Christi you have to understand that many here are not going to let misinformation or ignorance slide when it is bantered about in regards to some very important issues. I appreciate your spunk and please chime in any time you have a good and sarcastic remark to make.

I'm going to say it. Yes, I am. I'm going to actually admit it. I.....don't.....live.....in......Fayette......county. *gasp* *thud*

Thus the reason for my lack of concern. But rest assured: I do not live in a trailer, have bleach-blonde hair, dip snuff or have a junior high education. I am here afterall, because up at the top it does say "Peachtree City/Coweta".

Carry on with your political debates. I will shut up about it until August 8. But after that? Watch out. Smiling

Walmart is my last place of choice as well. The one in Fayetteville is dirty, people are rude and I don’t feel safe. The one in PTC lacks customer service, and you have to wait in line forever, not to mention it takes forever to get out of there (although it may be better now that 54 has opened). I shop at the Publix on 74 near Holly Grove. That store has the best customer service, Hector is always there to greet you with a smile and he makes sure if your standing in line, he will call up all cashiers in a heartbeat. I rather pay a few bucks more to shop where I feel like they appreciate my money!

We do Wal-Mart, Publix and Kroger. None control the best quality or pricing.

And use price matching, coupons and sales.

Be a smart shopper. No one store does it all.

Walmart is just not first choice for anything. It's more of a last resort.

I'll say this, I'm glad both stores exist in the area.

Everybody knows that. Think of something more current and interesting to discuss, (and try proofreading your posts). Also, this topic has already been discussed in "Publix Alert!!!!!" Pay attention.

Listen to the cow knocker over guy. Read your posts and proof read. Understand that Walmart was created for unedumacated folks who work for minimum wage to shop. I love Publix becasue I don't have to shop with the Hip Hop / Trailer Trash culture. And the employees act like they really do appreciate my business.
