Xaymaca: Just when I thought I was going to relax this weekend

Xaymaca's picture

A tree fell by my house last night. A neighbor thinks it's because it's been so dry lately. Luckily no people or property got hurt. But now I'm trying to decide wether to get a chain saw and maybe haul the pieces to the landfill or just find someone to just haul this away for me. I hear the tree hauling places are expensive and I'm cheap. Not a good combo. Renting a Makita from HD for a day is about 62 bucks plus I'd have to haul it myself. Anyone know a inexpensive but good tree service?

XvolunteerFF: Any fair Heating and Air repair companies in PTC?

XvolunteerFF's picture

Our upstairs unit had a blown coil and Trinity Air has qouted $19,000 to replace all 3 A/C Units and Furnaces.

The house was built in 1992 so the units are getting old.

PTC Guy: Identify Theft??

PTC Guy's picture

Just be aware the original PTC Guy is NOT PTCGuy, as was pointed out to me someone had created as a user name.

Hmmmm. Now, if admin checked, would they find someone whose name would not suprise anyone was behind it?

dollaradayandfound: Deceptive Bills

Congress has finally put together an immigration bill that can be blamed on Bush, who isn't up for election, yet many republicans who wish to be re-elected, can rant and rave about it without fear of retribution by Bush and Rove, who will be off making millions in industry by then.

TDK Foe: "Telephone Lineman" Logsdon at it again!!

Our one-term mayor, Harold "Telephone Lineman" Logsdon, will host a “Town Hall-Disinformation Campaign” meeting Tuesday, June 19 to focus on our current and future growth (code word for Coweta cut through traffic), transportation and redevelopment issues. This comes right after Harold's most recent assault on PTC, when he threw out our 40 year old comprehensive plan and brought in a massive Wieland high density slap-em-up/no-trees/live-on-top-of-your-neighbor development.

Click here for NY Times report

dollaradayandfound: Had Enough

Bring em on! Hunt em down. Smoke em out. Bring em to justice. Mission Accomplished! Build a fence. Green Zone Safe. Abu Ghraib. Poppy Crops double. Commanders in the Field are listened to! Change Eisenhower out again, we are winning. Surge. Surge agin. Gitmo, oh Gitmo. Turkish, Egyptian, and Eastern block torture places. Waterboarding. Electrifying testicles. Dog Biting. Hosing. 150 decibels in a cage for days.

Hey, Ghoul, you made things bad

Xaymaca: Tags Tags Tags

Xaymaca's picture

I kind of wish Georgia would get rid of the county designation on the license plate tags. Tags make it way too easy to make assumptions about people you really know nothing about.

dollaradayandfound: Another General in the White house everyday

Since no four-star general would take the additional advisors role about Iraq and Afghanistan to the President's briefing every day, they found a three-star, hungry for the fourth star to take it.

launch: Looking for Follie Event Information?

I heard there is a band playing and the theme is the fifties? I believe it's in Fayetteville, GA this weekend. Is there a website to obtain more information concerning the where and when?

machase: Truth comes out in end

The D.A and cops win 98% of their cases. After 2 trials, both jury's can see through the lies of the police. From my own personal experience, I KNOW they will lie!

dollaradayandfound: Another airport for Atlanta area

Of course this has come up before and since it usually pays for itself, there are not many people who care one way or the other.

bankermom: Fayetteville...what has happened?

My my, how things have changed in a few short years. We relocated to Fayetteville from California in 2003 because of my husband's job. We chose Fayette County because of it's stellar reputation for good schools and quality of life. But how things have changed....robberies, random gunslingers, etc. It makes us so sad what is happening here and terrified we won't be able to sell our home. I now see hoodlums walking around the Pavillon and up and down GA85. It is looking more and more like Riverdale every week. I think we will have to be going back to California soon, which is too bad because this is, er, was a really great county.

Shirley McMillin: Starr's Mill Sour Grapes

The Starr's Mill girls soccer coach sure didn't want to give the Whitewater team any credit for their victory, did he? I hope this same scenario happens every year as long as he's coaching!!

Just wanted to pass a word to the wise....don't waste your time or your money by going here. I recently scheduled a facial and hair appointment 1 month in advanced....they called to let me know they couldn't cut my hair the daybefore my appointment.

Basmati: Rev. Jerry Falwell is dead

Basmati's picture

The man who once pronounced that "God is a Republican" is dead.

Hallelujah.

Excellent write-up on Falwell's legacy in Time magazine online version today. The money quote:

Spinning: Defrauded Mom

I want everyone to know how horrible the Golden Corral treats MOM. My
hardworking husband and children took me to the aforementioned

dollaradayandfound: Fabricated jobs

What has replaced all of the jobs we have lost to Asia and other places?
Such jobs as Presidents, Vice-Presidents, Controllers, Plant Managers, Production Managers (of products for sale)and all the associated jobs to get products to market, are mostly missing.

Xaymaca: Tale of Two Libraries

Xaymaca's picture

With the groundbreaking of the new library in Tyrone I thought this might be a good time to vent about library in Fayetteville vs the one in Peachtree City. Now I realize that the Peachtree City branch is newer and that is fine but there are a few other differences that really annoy me.

dollaradayandfound: The EURO and the POUND

Why is a POUND Sterling worth twice as much as a dollar. And, a EURO, about even with the dollar when it was introduced, is now worth 20-30% more. depending on the use.

Quoted from Newnan Times-Herald: From 2000 thru 2004: Number of people moving from Fayette to Coweta: 5,737. Number moving from Coweta to Fayette: 3,030.

dollaradayandfound: Moderator needed

Unless we are willing to talk about and read about restaurants and other useless subjects on here, we are going to have to have a "moderator" to make this thing worth fooling with for any length of time.

ShortField: Rumor

I've heard a rumor a couple of times about Catfish Hollow coming to Fayetteville.

Any truth to that?

PLEASE GOD, PLEASE GOD, PLEASE GOD, let this one be true.
