dollaradayandfound: Changing the subject

Firing US attorneys is fun. Of course the Attorney General ("Judge" to them)is the one who thought up such stuff. When a war goes bad due to lack of smarts, it is time to fire DA's. Or, point to wars that have lasted hundreds of years and killed millions of people, which our war has not done neither, yet.

Git Real: WWII Heritage Days at Falcon Field Today.

Git Real's picture

Don't miss this jewel. The Dixie Wing guys and gals at Falcon Field are sponsoring their 3rd or Th Annual WWII Heritage Days featuring live Allied Forces vs. the evil Jerrys battle reenactments. Walk through the encampments and see vintage military vehicles and weaponry. This is a very historical and nostalgic event that is well worth attending. There's a $5 donation to get in and kids under 14 are free. There's only one day left and it's a shame this wasn't publicized.

dollaradayandfound: The War: again

I heard one of the Iraqi parliament members who was wounded in the "green zone" blast recently, say he was embarrassed that it was necessary for him to be taken to the American Hospital in the green zone, since there was NOT a decent one to take an Iraqi official in the whole of Iraq.

I normally just pick at other bloggers, but this has to be the most ignorant person that has ever had the nerve to write to The Citizen. When I discovered this site I found many postings that were interesting, enjoyable and, at times, informative. Maybe it's because this is the way teenagers choose to communicate their unfounded ideas and beliefs.

do what you can: police bashers

I would like to address all those people who like to bash the PTC police. Do any one of you have any idea what it is like to be a police officer? Do you understand the stress of knowing that each and every day you may have someone fight you, someone shoot at you, someone try to KILL you. That each day you put that gun belt on and say good bye to your wife and kids it may be the LAST TIME they see you alive?? And they do this job knowing the pay is crappy, the hours suck, and their lives are on the line. Instead, people bash the PTC police for doing their job...the job they get paid so little for. The officers of PTC are some of the best officers around. They do their job to the best of their ability. They CHOOSE to stay a PTC officer even knowing that they get no respect from the citizens they strive to protect. They CHOOSE to stay even though they know they have to act as a parent to many of the bad kids, they have to be the disciplinarian to those kids and then face the wrath and bad mouthing of the parents who don't care enough to BE a parent! The PTC officers come in to work each and every day KNOWING that their shift will probably be short staffed and that back up in an urgent sitation may be longer in coming because of the lack of a full shift.

I have lived in Peachtree City since 1984. That was the year I returned to my native Georgia. Five and one half years in Michigan had delighted me with all the snow I ever wanted to see for the rest of my life. My intent, as Lewis Grizzard wrote in his book "If I ever get back to Georgia, I'm gonna nail my feet to the ground!" (or something like that) was to do exactly that. One of the first purchases I made was a pair of gravesite plots in nearby Westminster Cemetary.
