Attention Cal and The Citizen, et al....

When I discovered this site I found many postings that were interesting, enjoyable and, at times, informative. Now it seems we have descended into childish attacks and attempts to undermine any opinion with which we do not agree. I can't understand why many users feel this is proper and accecpted. Maybe it's because this is the way teenagers choose to communicate their unfounded ideas and beliefs.

I guess the only way to stop this descent into the inferno would be to simply close this site. I know this may seem extreme, but look where we are headed. The attacks keep getting more vile by the day(or minute) and restricting foul language isn't the answer. (I do agree the language must be cleaned-up however)

The lack of respect for one another simply reflects the direction our society has been heading for some time now. The persons using this media are simply displaying the lack of rearing in proper etiquette they've been given at home.

In conclusion, I would like to suggest this page be shut-down, until a better solution can be found.

To those of you who know how to behave and discuss matters in a civil manner; I'm sorry you must be subjected to the undisciplined, childlike rantings of the unwashed few.

Hey, Captain M.I. Obvious, I think a lot of people have known for a couple of decades that the Internet spawns "discussion" that lacks civility or whatever. It's sort of like your TV....you have the power to change the channel or keep it turned to the OFF position.

If you don't like the comments posted on here, don't read them. This is a great site for the citizens to banter.

Everyone should be treated equal re the language and the vicious attacks.

I don't have time to read everything posted on here. Some of the comments I refuse to read. That works for me. Smiling

There are a couple of people on here who wish this to be "tea party" conversation. Now, there is a big difference in that sort of thing and plain crassness, stupidity, mental sickness, unthinking, and a desire for recognition by shock speak.
What it must be is: the written word just as we would talk to a friend, or friends, about the subject of discussion. No unnicesities, if thought true, left out, no honest criticism left out. Just like Limbaugh, Hannity, Imus---no not Imus, and others do it verbally.

TonyF, if I'm not mistaken, there are a few other WEB sites on the internet that you could choose to visit. As far as I'm aware this is not the only site, in the world, that you can go to.

If you don't like what's on the TV do you leave it on that same channel and complain about the poor programming they offer?

Do you often frequent restaurants where the service and/or food is not to your liking?

If you answered yes to either question then I would suggest you get checked to see if you have some type of compulsive disorder.

Nothing wrong with disagreeing. I've asked a few in the past to meet at Battery Way Park to discuss things in a neighborly manner, but they are too embarassed to show up. Or maybe they are all the same fellow. Smiling

Are you really asking people to meet you in a wooded park or are you just joking? This sounds like something that should be on NBC Dateline, “predators in Peachtree City.” You’re making it hard to digest my lunch.

By the way, what did you think about the letter to the editor from your slippery tongued friend Harold Logsdon? I’ve never seen more backpeddling in my life. Oh yes…I did say I liked the Lowes plan…but I didn’t mean I liked it for Peachtree City…I meant it would be great for Riverdale.

You're about the only supporter he has left.

It's obvious you've never been to the Lake at/before Sunset. Lots of nice folks there.

Maybe you should get out more.

I saw the letter, and it reminded me of the letters from the past Mayor. Lots of backpeddling for sure.

I'm trying to have an effect on both the content and the tone of discussions, but I'm new here. Somehow I think I'm a bit less rabid....no, ummm passionate, yes passionate than some others.

Resident of Peachtree City since 1984. My blogs are more like columns, go and read them in sequence.

I think Randall's guys stake out the parks to keep men from meeting there. Personally I don't care to be prosecuted by Ballard who would try to get me off at the same time he's trying me.

Battery Way is the park where most married people meet other people when they are cheating on their current spouse.....It is a well know fact.......when you are rollerblading, or cycling by avert your eyes to the water......because you won't like what you see in the parking lot....

It's not a gay park ...like Piedmont park.....it's where married people go to cheat in PTC.

I think it's also where the nude golf cart guy got caught....not sure on that.
