Urgent Press Release

Peachtree City, Ga – Mayor Harold Logsdon announced the “Great Air Race” sponsors have selected Peachtree City as the ultimate venue for their $1 million event.

Logsdon cited the ease of sneaking taxpayer funds into such events as a primary reason for their choice. “It was our ability to rescue Peachtree National Bank from their sneaky development authority loans using city tax dollars that sealed the deal,” said Logsdon. There were no details available on where the $1 million in prize money would come. However, the airport authority’s attorney, Doug Warner, is on the Board of Directors with Peachtree National Bank and was also part of the development authority fiasco.

Logsdon announced the next step for the city is to lift the ban on alcohol sales for the public air show. He explained the alcohol would help relieve neck pain from having to stare up at the planes for long periods of time.

Several local bars have already stepped forward as platinum and gold level sponsors. A national whiskey distributor has also expressed an interest in a sponsorship. They announced a promotional plan that included dropping tiny “airline size” bottles of whiskey from a low flying aircraft. Logsdon said he is on board with the idea.

“I just wish we had a Kohl’s store in town so that I could buy a pair of pleated pants for the event,” said Logsdon. “It sure would be nice to have a Lowes store near by the airport too in case one of the pilots needs a hammer or something.”

This press release is purely satirical. Any resemblance to anyone who disregards the voters of the county is purely coincidental. Your opinions on TDK may vary with the mayor's. This release should not be read in Alaska and Puerto Rico. Does not include certain fees. The taxpayer bailout is extra.

How come Doug Warner is still the attorney for the airport authority? That guy gets in more trouble than the Little Rascals.
