Full Time Observer: Restaurant UpdateThe Original Pancake House has a new menu! No new items to choose from, just another increase in prices. Was there this past week and the pancakes have also shrunk in size to being only about five inches in diameter. I honestly can't afford to dine there anymore with the new prices. Irish4: Starr's Mill Girls Tennis AAAA State ChampionsCongratulation Starr's Mill Lady Panthers on your victory over St. Pius and Marist to win the AAAA State Tennis Championship. McIntosh Lady's also put up a valid fight and narrowly lost to Marist in the semi finals. ishmael07: A Student's Opinion on Global WarmingMy hypothesis: Global warming is real; however, so is global cooling. Some areas will heat up dramatically and some will cool down exponentially. dollaradayandfound: Polarization!Means a stand-off that can't be resolved. TDK Foe: The city has enough TDK right-of-way for 5 lanes!Don't for one second believe the baloney that the "city only has enough TDK right-of-way in hand for two lanes" as was reported in the recent Citizen news article. ShortField: Customer Service?MSN ran an article recently entitled ""The Customer Service Hall of Shame"". The article discussed quite correctly in my view the complete lack of customer orientation in the customer service department of most major companies and the lack of choice that consumers have. maximus: Filling the VoidWith the departure of Hack, JeffC, myword_mark, and some that I don’t know about since I am relatively new around here, I thought that I should step in to fill the resulting void of opinions at The Citizen. Although my opinions may not match theirs exactly, we can all assume that they are close enough until we hear otherwise. johenry: Never thought we would consider moving from PTC“I think the only legacy left to consider is how much more of Peachtree City’s heritage of careful planning will they end up trashing. dollaradayandfound: RetirementThe last time we had $3.00 gasoline, tomatoes (medium to large) @ about $1.00 each, some onions even at $.75 each, good steak or roast from $6.99 to $9.99 per pound, and hamburger @ $3.00 per pound, green beans at about $4.00 for a pot full, and service technicians at $65.00 per hour, at least retired people on a fixed income after retirement could eat some dog and cat food to survive. cowtipn: Dear Lynn,Dear Lynn, thebeaver: Wal-Mart manager chasing shoplifter gets run over in N. C.It's unbelievable what lazy thieves will do to their fellow man. http://www.kgw.com/video/video-index.html?nvid=14233 Xaymaca: So we won't have to fight them here?AF A-10: Hack bows outG'Day my fellow Citizen bloggers. It's been a couple of weeks since our de'tent, but I see the gravitational pull back to the standard partisan nature of all arguments here. It is a partisan attempt to turn all issues into a red vs blue or democrat vs republican view. the democratic and especially republican parties are so fractured with widely differing views these days, it's hard for me to see how one can frame the "big issues of the day" into right vs left. I'll sign off by saying this: Those that feel we must perpetually stay in Iraq to avoid paying the price later do not realize we are paying right now. Richard Hobbs: Because I don't want my son to go to fight in Iraq tomorrowYesterday, this very fine young man came in to see me. He is in the Army infantry and he spoke concisely and clearly, sprinkling his comments with "yes sir" or "no sir", in just the right amount. Although he was but a very young man, he showed maturity far beyond that of today's youth whose goals seem to be more concerned with the number of new ringtones that they have on their new cell phone. Needless to say, I was immediately fond of him. Richard Hobbs: New Kiwanis Club of McIntosh TrailHaving left another organization in disgust this past year, I found I had some time on my hand. So one Saturday, I took my family to the High School for the annual Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast. dollaradayandfound: The enemy we fight in IraqIt is time we figured out who we want to win in Iraq. Us for sure but I'm having trouble deciding who else? In this case it is hard to see who it is in Iraq that we will have won from. John Munford: VIDEO-2007 Relay for Life Survivors Walk
More than 200 cancer survivors as young as 3 and as old as 91 participated in the Survivor's Walk Friday night to kickoff the 2007 Relay for Life event. More than $500,000 was raised to benefit the American Cancer Society and local programs for cancer victims.
grendlemom: To all those who drovepast the little old lady's house that had car with flat tire in driveway, and no one offered to help - shame on you. Guess you were in too big of a hurry to get to church! MIKEK: BUMPER STICKERSHaving to commute to and from the northside daily, I have found myself paying much more attention to bumper stickers at a much higher frequency. I believe it was Friday when at a light the vehicle in front of me had several, one of which I'd like to share: "Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my gun". mainak.mazumder: Story giving us a real pictureThe above story really gives us some in-depth pictures of the real world. Regards, Nancy Faulkner: Lost Black PugLOST Black Pug in area of Banks Road and Hwy 54. 9:00 a.m. Sunday morning 5/6/2007 Mixer: Why we fight.Irish4: Fly By - Tonight - Relay For Life - Kiwanis ParkHeads up - rumor has it Delta Air Lines will perform a FLY BY tonight with their RELAY FOR LIFE LIVERY(pink)aircraft - schedule for around 7 PM at Kiwanis Park - This should be pretty awesome to witness. AF A-10: Cartoons sink to new low; must be a slow news day.I absolutely agree with Jeff Carter who has called The Citizen one of the finest local papers he's read. That is why I'm always dissappointed when they stick cartoons in issues, such as the 4 May PTC Citizen, that aren't even fit for tabloids. WYBOO SC: WHITEWATER BASEBALLI AM TRYING TO GET THE SCORE FROM LAST NIGHT'S GAME BETWEEN WHITEWATER AND STARR'S MILL. ANY DETAIL WOULD HELP. Jones: FCBOE: 50 acres and no muleDidn't you just have to love the coincidental pop-up of information that the FCBOE wanted a 50-acre site for an elementary and middle school in the West Village? Oh problem solved! Yeah right. ddodge: golf cart bridge impact studyCan I believe what I recently read where the construction of two new cart path bridges are being held up in order to do an air quality impact study? What makes sense here? cowtipn: Westmoreland NewsMusicman311: THE FREDI am a manager for a few country acts out of Nashville. I recently tried to contact The Fred in Peachtree City about booking some of our acts. dollaradayandfound: Guns, suicide bombs, poison, fires, etc.If there are guns and ammunition available, and they will be forever, then anybody that wants one will have one. I have three---rusting. |
