dollaradayandfound: Some good stuff

There are many problems with our country lately, but that can be discussed separately. Worse than the problems though is our desire to solve them is non-existent. I just don't know how long all this can last, considering the situations that now exist.

So, I'm back...for a while, anyway. Stop reading now if you don't want to know about my life and what's going on in it. Dollar, that means you; you tend to comment on things when they don't inspire bickering and differences of opinions, so you can stop reading now.

dollaradayandfound: Could your job be unnecessary?

Prior to WW11, up to 90% of our jobs were either on a farm, or related to farming. If you had asked most of those people if they were afraid of losing their livelihood, they would have said no. We will always need food.

kasemeierd: Congratulations

Buzz,

I noted your retirement announcement on Dave Robert's retired Delta pilot's net. That posting linked with the article in the The Citizen. The background that the Citizen article gave was very interesting.

dollaradayandfound: Four-way stops

They do not work here. There is no way that people who are on the cell phone, drinking a cup of Starbucks, have their makeup kit out, and minding the kids, can determine just who is next to pull out at a four way intersection.

Spear Road Guy's picture

When the mayor openly said he wanted more big box stores and the TDK Extension, he opened Pandora's box. Now we are going to get riddled with requests like the "NEW and IMPROVED" Lowes proposal.

dollaradayandfound: How Gore must have felt

Al Gore is a very brilliant man, and to lose to such a sad sack as Bush has turned out to be must have saddened him greatly--not for himself, but for the country. He knew what might happen!

Michael Boylan: Any interest in the NBA finals?

Michael Boylan's picture

Until the last two minutes of Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals, I hadn't watched any NBA this year. My eye caught the close score in the final 1:30 of game 4 though and I clicked over. Although I still couldn't bring myself to watch an entire game for Game 5 or 6, I did watch more of each of those games (usually right around the end). It was great to see LeBron James come into his own and I have to admit my interest in the NBA finals is a little piqued.

I will disagree with the writer saying that the SMHS graduation was a disgrace. It was a beautiful ceremony and if you really cared for the students you would no be saying those mean words.
