Spear Road Guy: It Could Have All Been Avoided if PTC Council Acted SoonerI think the real "proof in the pudding" is all of the comments made by the Coweta County Commissioners like "we really need this road" and others. They even held the developer down to 1,000 homes and 150,000 of commercial space until TDK is built or they will do an annual traffic review. masked08: Dogs in Cars in this HeatTo the ignorant, doesn't give a crap about her dog, woman at the WM in PTC today at lunch. I can only hope that you are left to suffer at some point as your dog did today. Why was I so mad, you wonder?? That beautiful Wimey of yours is so unfortunate to have you as it owner. It was 95 on the thermometer, which means it was probably 140 in that car. I don't give a F if you left the windows cracked 2-3 inches. I don't care if you leave the poor dear to suffer in the summer sun and heat at home and you think she is fine. She is not. Dogs can sunburn. Dogs pant for a reason. Because they are HOT. That's not how she breathes normally. She was struggling to cool herself, to no avail. Arf: PTC Sports Fields AdditionsSomething gnaws and I need to see if anyone else can either provide more information that will make this make sense, or can show me the error of my logic… Michael Boylan: Your thoughts on fighting sports - lots of questionsSouthside Slugfest II is at The Fred tomorrow night and lots of people have made their feelings known about mixed martial arts, a.k.a. ultimate fighting, but what about boxing and wrestling (the real stuff not WWE, etc.)? bowser: Westmoreland makes sense?I'm no fan of Lynn Westmoreland, but I think he makes a strong, articulate case in today's AJC for his vote against a bill to spend up to $100 million on investigations of unsolved civil rights-era crimes. You read that right -- $100 million. wildcat: Leibovitz exhibitIf you've not been to see it; it's really good. The celebrity pictures are great, but it is her other pictures that are truly moving. Git Real: CREDIT CARD SCAM ON BUSINESSESTo those of you in business for yourself and if you take credit cards I highly advise you to read this article regarding how one gets scammed via credit cards. Judith W Moore: Should the unincorporated portions of Fayette County form new cities? After reading Ben Nelms article on the new cities of Fulton, I have been wondering whether residents of Fayette County outside city limits should be considering the same thing. thereferee: boycott dollarAfter reading blog post and comments for sometime now, I have come to realize that there are some pretty intelligent people here. With that in mind, I have to ask why everyone continues to respond to the one true idiot here (dollaradayandfound). Am I the only one that see’s dollar as one who is looking to pick a fight? The way I see it is dollar really doesn’t believe or in most cases even understand the issues. If the majority stands in support of something dollar will almost certainly stand against it and vise-versa. Example: dollar constantly criticizes the activities of the drug squad, and then comes rick7069 who also seems to respond negatively to the drug squad, and rather than build an alliance with rick, dollar attacks rick's character as rick attempts to share his story of hardships related to a prior arrest. Anyone reading the blogs should see that dollar offers no intelligent reasoning to his arguments. But maybe dollar is smarter than we (I) give him credit for, If dollar is in fact just here to infuriate other blogger’s he seems to be accomplishing that mission. Mixer: 9/10 Journalists are Democrats. Duh.It amazes me how liberal the 'mainstream' media is and how many people are in complete denial of this long time problem. wildcat: St. Hair/NewnanI just wanted to warn those that may make an appointment at this establishment that they should double-check, prior to driving to Newnan, for verification of said appointment. howdoyoulikemenow: Where should we arrest drug dealers? Drug Dealerville.Dollar: Local, State and Federal Agencies are in constant contact with each other. And yes there are moles/informants within all Agencies and branches of government. MWF: PTC to Fairburn-AgainAnother former PTC employee has gone to Fairburn. May be one soon to follow: Fairburn has posted an opening for Public Safety Director. dollaradayandfound: Rats deserting sinking shipRats have always known when a ship is sinking. They will always jump overboard before the ship goes under and start swimming somewhere. thebeaver: The Legacy of Jimmy CarterKevin Wandra: Best high school athlete you have seenThe best high school athlete I have ever seen in person is former Creekside quarterback/cornerback Eric Berry. Berry was a playmaker extraordinarre at Creekside. He should vie for a starting spot in Tennessee's secondary as a freshman this season. Christian: Prayer of the Blessed VirginO most beautiful flower of Mt. Carmel, fruitful vine, splendor of Heaven, Blessed Mother of the Son of God, Immaculate Virgin, assist me in my necessity. thebeaver: Take Note - Georgia's Most Wanteddollaradayandfound: Developers and contractors hiring illegalsSuppose tomorrow congress passes a law indicating that the penalty for hiring illegal workers was, say, six months for the first offense in a federal prison, and 50,000 dollars fine. You can guess at continuing offenses. too bad: Thoughts of making illegals....legalA lady wrote this as her view of the illegal immigration...and the demonstrations for it...I love it. Let's say I break into your house, mapleleaf: Emergency Alert System harassmentIn recent weeks, my Comcast cable TV set-top box has occasionally been hijacked in the middle of a program. The cable channel display changes to the letters EAS, and a man in religious garb is seen to harangue an invisible audience. It lasts about 90 seconds and then the system resets itself to the channel I was watching. wondering: Wynnmeade on the news????Yesterday on WSBtv 5:00 news they showed helicopter coverage of a "standoff" in the Wynnmeade subdivision. There appeared to be a SWAT team. SharpCitizen01: PTC Town Hall Meeting on TDK Blvd Tonight at 7pmAccording to this mornings Newnan Times-Herald (www.times-herald.com, click on News) there is going to be a joint meeting tonight in Peachtree City on the "new" road to PTC. There will be three Coweta County Commissioners attending only to answer questions and the County's Transportation Planner will be giving a presentation on Coweta's Comp. Plan with special attention on the Land Use and transportation plans. These plans can be viewed on the Coweta County Website (www.coweta.ga.us). Michael Boylan: Home field advantageNot that I mind when Turner Field turns into Fenway South (though it didn't help much last night), but I have been to other Braves games where the out of town fans take over (Cubs, Mets, etc.) dollaradayandfound: China and Japan and Saudi Arabia calls in debt!Last night just after midnight, the governments of the above nations called all of the American debt. wildcat: Any AT hikers out there? Is anybody hiking the AT in segments? Have you made it to (or past) Burke's Garden, VA? If so, I have some questions for you. Xaymaca: Hope you're not missing meBeen away on business for most of June but I just decided to check in and make sure Fayette hasn't gone to the birds without my blog comments. You'll be be "seeing" me more often. Arf: PTC GripesThe main question that I would like to see addressed is “what happened to the original plans for Peachtree City to be a suburban residential community with limited shopping venues.” The separate industrial park area was designed to create jobs and pay taxes for upkeep of the town’s infrastructure. Those who bought into Peachtree City early on came here for the simple, isolated, family-oriented town that offered safety, security and a quality of life rarely found. These days, Peachtree City has become a major hub for out of the area residents to work, shop, eat and entertain themselves. The actual residents continue to lose out because we are being overrun by out-of-towners rushing in to spend the day or rushing through to get somewhere else. John Munford: Give me your PTC gripes!!!Judging by the attendance at City Council meetings not involving the TDK extension (or the two vanished Big Boxes), chances are most of you aren't going to make PTC City Hall Tuesday night at 7 p.m. for the town hall meeting hosted by Mayor Harold Logsdon. Kevin Wandra: Giuliani wins Georgia? It's less than a year away from the 2008 presidential election, and Hillary Clinton appears to be the Democratic front-runner. |
