Wynnmeade on the news????

Yesterday on WSBtv 5:00 news they showed helicopter coverage of a "standoff" in the Wynnmeade subdivision. There appeared to be a SWAT team. Anyone know what happened?

I am the only person that can tell you what happened that day. The correct information. He's my brother and I was there that day. He was on the "wrong path" in life. He got mixed up into drugs and was writing bad checks. That is all. The police went to arrest him that day and of course naturally he was terrified. He did what ever he could to keep them out of his home, including telling them he was armed. He wasn't. He didn't own any of that. His parents weren't allowed to talk to him. Three hours later, finally, they were allowed to. A few minutes later he came out of his home peacefully, unarmed. The police made it a huge deal afterwards so everyone had the wrong idea. There, that's the story.

I regret that your brother was arrested.
Why was he arrested? Did you say bad checks?
Why did he lie? Did he think they would then leave?

Why the bad path that he took---by accident?
How old is he? Has he had trouble with the law before?

If he is a very young fellow, I hope they decide he can now make it and try him out again as a civilian. If it were my relative and his first criminal act, that is what I would want.

When telling a story--even for your brother, no one believes just the good stuff, and usually suspects that there is more to tell!

Yeah what happened is ptc is turning into Fayetteville,Riverdale, or Jonesboro!

Why would you lump Fayetteville with Riverdale and Jonesboro? The Pavilion, while in Fayetteville proper, does not Fayetteville make. If that is your area of contention, please say so. Fayetteville is a nice town and a good alternative to PTC's HOA-mentatility.

I, myself am wondering if PTC launched the Jet-skies.

Incase he tried to make a get-a-away by PTC Lake.

I congratulate the cops, as I am sure they had so much fun finally being able to break out the SWAT Team. The helicopter was a nice touch.

As to Mr Ash himself...well, how high do you have to be to believe the cops themselves would give you crack cocaine? Honestly, I need what that boy was smoking.

My heart goes out to his family, but Tyler, if you can hear me:

Why didnt you run? I mean, honestly...why didnt you go for the whole car-chase scenario? If yer going to go out, go out BIG!

Fun times for Peachtree City!

This was no joking matter. The Peachtree City police blew the whole situation up. It wasn't that awful. He just didn't want to get arrested. I can't believe you are making a joke out of this. You weren't there and you don't know how awful the police were to him.

Is that supposed to be a joke? Who WANTS to be arrested?

Resisting arrest can be a great way to get yourself shot a few times. To say that the police "blew the situation up" is blaming the wrong people. It's not their fault a druggie had warrants for his arrest, then told cops he was armed and refused to be arrested, which caused a 3 hour stand-off. Yeah, blame the cops.

You are too hard on people.

People rob stores because they have no money. They aren't bad.

They rob banks because they are sure to have some money!

They do dope regularly just because they can get it and then to get the next, they must stick-up a store. That is logical isn't it?

They are always threatening someone---their way---of course, he thought the cops would leave if they thought he might shoot them!

None of it is HIS fault. He was raised that way.

Your story is wrong. Fix it.

Bridget, you have been a member for a whopping 2 hours and I think you have set a new record for the most posts for the oldest stories. Your brother was foolish. Not only did he go down the wrong path (your words, not mine), but he was stupid to tell armed and trained persons he had a gun. Did you expect our officers to roll over and say "Hey, he is just kidding and doesn't have a gun. So let's just walk in escort him out."? He is very lucky he did not get shot. Also, why are you so worried about the comments from almost a year ago. Have you been someplace for about a year that prohibited you from having computer access?

The story and what you posted are basically the same, though you left out what the arrest warrants were for and how there were several, to go along with other crimes he was then charged with for resisting arrests and running his mouth off. Why don't you look at the story and then post what you think isn't accurate?

According to what you posted, you're saying the story says he had a gun. It never said that. The story clearly states the dude told the cops he had a gun and would shoot them, not that he had a gun. It also states that no gun was found. Maybe you need to take the blinders off and read the story again.

Gee, do you think he might be renting a house from one of those slumlord pilots? Where is that front person for Wynmeade at a time like this?
Why can't we clean up that neighborhood?

So, do you like my new picture? meow

Submitted by Bridget on Thu, 05/22/2008 - 1:30pm.

He owned that house. And maybe you should be thinking of all the other people in that neighborhood that got him into all of that.

not scum, just got lost on the path of life and by the way he OWNED the house not rented. Want to clean it up? Then buy that house and start working on it, until the stop complaining.

i went to school with this person and they were in my class and he was always crazy in highschool. He has issues. It does surprise me though that something like this happens. It's sad but obviously this person needs help.

"They" were in your class? He was one person. He didn't have issues. And you don't know him at all. He was never crazy.

I saw the helicopter hovering and wondered what was going on.
