too bad: time to put your hat in the ring for school board or shut up

The time to put your name in to run against Janet Smola for your school district is running out. You have, I think, until sometime around 1st of August to put your name or forever be silent.

dollaradayandfound: Republican triumphs

Although the republicans and their philosophy of doing nothing has failed due to for once trying to do something and failing (the war, and the budget)they have succeeded in applying their philosophy in several areas.

dollaradayandfound: Criminals or is it war?

Twice the radical Islamists attacked the world trade center in New York. They succeeded the last time in 9/11/2001.
Mostly, the business of the world trade center was international money changing, a practice they abhor.

Davids mom: Where do we go from here?

Many on this site have posted facts regarding the current and past administrations role and involvement in Iraq, the Middle East and the 'war on terror'.

juliejackson: Les Miserables Comes to Peachtree City!

Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to see Broadway theater right in your own backyard. The show is so professionally produced and beautiful that it will mesmerize and move you. The Twilight Theatre has done a wonderful job. Kudos to Director Alison Chambers for bringing a production that rivals any Fox show to us here in Fayette Co.

helpful lawyer: Big change in Georgia law on advance directive for health care

As of July 1, 2007, our Georgia law has pretty much scrapped living wills and durable powers of attorney for health care by offering us a modern comprehensive form that replaces all the old forms.

dollaradayandfound: The TDK lawsuit

I read the Citizen article about the law suit and I don't have any idea what the decision, if any, was.
Is the judge saying that ARC can make us build Coweta developers a bridge to our roads or otherwise Fayette won'tbe getting any more money for roads (from Whom)?

dollaradayandfound: Chip on the shoulder

It seems we have a few on here who get upset about racism, even if one only says some few words out loud.
What they don't seem to realize is that most of us want all races to do better and we only talk about problems in order to help eliminate them.

dollaradayandfound: The "Iraqi" "government"

A government consists of two things:
An elected body of people to manage, control, and govern a group of people.
The other thing is that there is something being managed, controlled, and governed.

Dalmation195: Clayton/Fayette joined at the hip!!!!

Read this article recently posted in the local Clayton County Newspaper, and you will see just why those of us who have lived here for decades are concerned with the southward migration from the more urban areas north of us.

Michael Boylan: All-Star omissions

Do you think anyone is missing from the 2007 All-Star team?

Who would you put on?

I'm saying Dice-K. The man has

A small montage of the fireworks at PTC last 4th

Boom!

dollaradayandfound: Lack of ideas

Often when politics or religion are discussed on here, some get all worked up to easily. I'm going to try and not use cliches in describing this blowing of a gasket by some, but it does make me want to chew nails and spit out tacks sometimes, especially when I am climbing the walls.

pentapenguin: "Fairness" Doctrine

Here's a great op-ed piece about the "Fairness" Doctrine that would put talk radio (uhh...excuse me, HATE radio) out of business.

Kevin Wandra: The greatest SEC quarterback ever is ...

Kevin Wandra's picture

Peyton Manning? Archie Manning? Fran Tarkenton? David Greene? Danny Wuerffel? Joe Namath?

As a HUGE New York Jets fan, I would love to say Namath, but I'll go with Wuerffel. Yeah, you could easily make the argument that Wuerffel was a product of Steve Spurrier's system, but you cannot take away the fact that Wuerffel set numerous passing records and won a national championship and the Heisman Trophy. None of the aforementioned quarterbacks accomplished both feats.

Mixer: Congressional Approval Lowest EVER

Mixer's picture

Dems certainly don't have anything to crow about now with Bush's poll numbers.

According to USA Today, a new Gallup poll has Congress now pulling the lowest approval ratings EVER:

Mixer: It’s time to celebrate freedom and democracy.

It’s the Fourth of July America.

According the Heritage Foundation, there are 30 plots, 200 cells and 1600 suspects currently under investigation and surveillance … in Britain.

Mixer: Bush commutes Scooter's sentence.

Scooter Libby's sentence for lying to a grand jury is commuted by Bush.

He will now serve probation in lieu of jail time.

Mixer: The 800 Page Amnesty Bill is dead, Now what?

I have always thought Bill O'Reilly was arrogant and imperious; however, I also think he is a smart man.

While reading one of his articles, I read his immigration proposal and liked it. After nearly a week of reflecting, I REALLY like it.

IMNSHO: Bicycle Club in PTC

Saturday morning about 9am, I was driving northbound on Peachtree Parkway, just passing the Peachtree Crossings shopping center (where the bike store is). About 30 bicyclists were crossing the parkway at a marked crossing, but NONE of them were stopping for cars. They ALL expected the cars to stop for them. I refused to, and almost hit one of them as he started into the crosswalk as I also entered the crosswalk (more correctly, HE would've hit ME).

Michael Boylan: Baseball in its purest form

Michael Boylan's picture

Took a trip up to Greenville, SC yesterday to see the West Virginia Power (featuring Sandy Creek graduate Brent Brewer) take on the Greenville Drive (a Class A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox).

darrylwd: Hit and Run of Cyclist...

darrylwd's picture

Where is the description of the Hit and Run individuals, that struck a cyclist recently at Ga Hwy 85 and Hwy 54?

It's good to have a description of the car, but come on, where is a description the punks that did this? Could this be political correctness gone overboard, do the suspects fall into minority classes?

dollaradayandfound: Peroting Hillary

Just as Ross once foiled a republican election, many conservatives are contributing money early to Obama's campaign, hoping that he will be the democratic nominee. It is their opinion that Obama can not win the election no matter what.

thebeaver: Voting Rights Violation

Looks like the charges of voting rights violations are true after all. Yes, racism runs rampant in the South...

Richard Hobbs: Which Cell Phone Service is Best for Fayette?

Richard Hobbs's picture

Curious as to you cell phone users.

I had Cingular about five years ago, but their phones were poorly designed. I needed a Palm phone to store my calendar and clients on and could sinc with my computer's software.

John Munford: OK you I-phone-atics!

John Munford's picture

I'm curious. SOMEONE out there in the Citizen blogosphere has to have purchased an Iphone today.

I've seen a cool demo video online. Could someone give us a first-hand report on how easy (and fun?) it is to use?

PTC_factchecker: Benoit Family - ENOUGH!

Are you sick of the media circus surrounding this pro wrestler death/murder?

What is the media trying to do? Is their goal to "find the truth" or find a way to nail wrestling?

dollaradayandfound: American Groups

It seems we have nearly stopped assimilating in the USA.
It went very well for about a hundred years when first generation Italians, Asians, Polish, Hungarians, Germans, French, and many other immigrants jumped right in and became engineers, doctors, mayors, congress members, and business executives.
