It’s time to celebrate freedom and democracy.

It’s the Fourth of July America.

According the Heritage Foundation, there are 30 plots, 200 cells and 1600 suspects currently under investigation and surveillance … in Britain.

How many do you suppose exist here in America?

America, we had better get a handle on our porous borders and find the commitment and resolve to fight this war on radical Islam; otherwise, we are going to find ourselves overwhelmed with an assault of unprecedented proportions.

We had better stop fighting each other and agree that it’s time to draw the proverbial ‘line in the sand’. If you are opposed to the action in Iraq, propose another way to fight this menace. Complaining isn't enough- we need suggestions.

It’s time that we all come together as Americans, unhyphenated and without prejudice. Division will be our downfall because or enemy is surely unified and committed.

There isn’t a one of us here who would be 'better off' under the Islamic law of the 13th century that the Muslim radicals are hoping to spread to and through America.

As we approach our birthday, my heart is with those in England and Scotland who are the latest in a long line of democracies under attack by the zealots of Islam.

Make no mistake people, we are a nation under assault, indeed, we are one nation under God that better be indivisible, if we want liberty and justice for all.

Happy Fourth of July.

The Muslims hate us with a fury equal to that of fire ants attacking an innocent child. Again.... these people do not want peace. They want to take over the world. Thank God to this point we're still free from those............

Have you read Because They Hate : A Survivor of Islamic Terror Warns America by Brigitte Gabriel (at Amazon)? I heard her on Hannity on the radio while I was in the car tonight and have heard her before. The book's available from the library, but you must order it because it isn't in the local libraries.

From Publishers Weekly:

With strident confidence, American Congress for Truth founder [Brigitte] Gabriel rebukes the American public for being "weak, asleep or careless" in the face of Muslim terrorism. A Christian survivor of the vicious civil war between Lebanese Christians and Muslims in the 1970s, Gabriel leans on her own terrifying experiences to condemn Muslims, without apparent regard for their ethnicity, ideology or historical role. Consistently using the words "Muslim" and "Arab" as if they were interchangeable, she concludes that the U.S. is "facing total destruction" at the hands of people who are uncultured and cruel, and prescribes such solutions as "profile, profile and profile," and banning "hate education" in Islamic institutions. Though her writing is eloquent and her passion tremendous, Gabriel's strict dichotomy between "evil versus goodness" is too extreme to be informative. Readers will be forced to decide whether or not to accept her heart-felt bias. [Must be a Democrat!]

The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades) by Robert Spencer & his other books

America Alone: The End of the World as We Know It by Mark Steyn

These have been highly recommended to me by a friend and are on my reading list (which grows longer and longer).

Some interesting articles about the loss of freedom when Muslims gain influence:

A teenage girl who was banned by her school from wearing a "purity ring" is taking her case to the [British] High Court.

"At my school Muslims are allowed to wear headscarves and other faiths can wear bangles and other types of jewellery [sic] and it feels like Christians are being discriminated against."

It is not the first time students have faced school bans over Christian symbols. Earlier this year a 13-year-old Catholic schoolgirl, was told not to wear a crucifix on a chain because it breached health and safety rules.

In November Nadia Eweida lost her legal battle to wear a crucifix while working as an air stewardess, but publicity over the case forced British Airways to review its uniform policy and allow religious symbols to be worn, although only in the form of small lapel badges.

FOX NEWS ISN'T REAL NEWS? (June 6, 2007)

Anyone who thinks that any news source out there is unbiased is fooling themselves. You have been brainwashed by liberal media outlets to believe that their news is the "right" news ... that it is balanced and lacking expression of political beliefs or opinions.

Sorry .. but that is flat out wrong. It is impossible to rid the media of political bias. Media is not just about how you say something but what you choose to talk about. The New York Times putting the Muslim JFK plot on the 37th page — liberal media bias. Not acknowledging the fact that the conspirators were Muslim in their on-line digest, liberal media bias.

Read all about "An Arabic Public School" in NYC Brooklyn in NYC Brooklyn

"A Madrassa Grows In Brooklyn"
By DANIEL PIPES (a word play on the book A Tree Grows in Brooklyn)

a "multicultural curriculum and intensive Arabic language instruction"

The school's key figure [principal Almontaser] has a record of extremist views:

"I don't recognize the people who committed the attacks as either Arabs or Muslims." Instead, she blames September 11 on Washington's foreign policies [votes Democrat I guess], saying they "can have been triggered by the way the USA breaks its promises with countries across the world, especially in the Middle East, and the fact that it has not been a fair mediator."

She berated the NYPD for using "FBI tactics" when informants were used to prevent a subway bombing, thereby polarizing the Muslim community. For Ms. Almontaser, it appears, preventing terrorism counts less than soothing Muslim sensibilities.

Rewarding these views, the Council on American-Islamic Relations [CAIR], a foreign-funded front organization, in 2005 bestowed an honor on Ms. Almontaser for her "numerous contributions" to the protection of civil liberties.

Franck Salameh taught Arabic at the most prestigious American language school, Middlebury College in Vermont. In a column for the Middle East Quarterly, he wrote: "even as students leave Middlebury with better Arabic, they also leave indoctrinated with a tendentious Arab nationalist reading of Middle Eastern history. Permeating lectures and carefully-designed grammatical drills, Middlebury instructors push the idea that Arab identity trumps local identities and that respect for minority ethnic and sectarian communities betrays Arabism."

In other words, Muslims tend to see non-Muslims learning Arabic as a step toward an eventual conversion to Islam, an expectation I encountered while studying Arabic in Cairo in the 1970s.

"Arabized students show decidedly greater support for the Islamist movement and greater mistrust of the West."

“College's Foot Bath Plans Spark Backlash” (6/5/07)

The University of Michigan-Dearborn plans to spend $25,000 for foot-washing stations, making it easier for Muslim students to practice their religion but sparking questions about the separation of church and state.

The university claims the stations are needed to accommodate Muslim students, who must ritually wash their bodies -- including the feet -- up to five times each day before prayers.

"Muslims Won't Fund Footbaths"

Muslim leaders in Metro Detroit have decided not to raise private money to pay for two footbaths at a local college campus now that the American Civil Liberties Union has said the plan doesn't pose constitutional problems.

Hardball with Chris Matthews (June 27, 2007, Transcript)

ANN COULTER: And maybe we could fight the war a little harder and not keep responding to Amnesty International.

COULTER: I think I’ve just said it. You cannot fight a clean, hygienic work. I mean, I think we either have to get rid of this secular religion of FDR, or we have to get rid of the idea of a hygienic war because that was not a clean, hygienic war, World War Two. We killed a lot of civilians, and we crushed the Nazi war machine. And the idea that Nazism, which was tied to a civilized culture, was less of a threat than the Koran, tied to a Stone Age culture, I think is preposterous! If we want to win this war, we absolutely could. And I think we’ve been too nice so far.

COULTER: You destroy the will of fanatics.

MATTHEWS: Do you worry that killing civilians, even accidentally as part of collateral damage or by the way things happen in war, friendly fire that that’s going to encourage more young people to become enemies of the United States?

COULTER: No! No. Because you are destroying the society that has produced these monsters. And you win by killing the other side and not allowing your side to be killed....Americans are getting fed up. Democracies don’t like to go to war, so we’re going to have to wrap it up quickly and destroy the fighting spirit of the fanatics.

** Any comments from the military representatives here? **

This quote reiterates the history lecture that I attended tonight:

"The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.... No stronger retrograde force exists in the world." - Sir Winston Churchill

I think taxpayers built the "chapels" on campuses.

Tell me more about Churchill's statement about women of Muslims. Sounds good to me.

I just couldn't read all those books and quotes last night, sorry.
Oh, foot washing by Christians started about 32 A.D., I think in Palestine somewhere.

Actually, washing a guest's feet was a custom practiced before Christians did it to show hospitality. And they didn't expect taxpayers to "foot" the bill either! Laughing out loud

I really do think you mean well in calling for us to celebrate our freedom above. We certainly should do so.
However your mixing our celebration with what seems to be a declaration of war against "radical" muslims concerns me.
If you will just review the Crusades of a thousand or so years ago, the same kind of talk floated around for so long and so vehemently that the decision was made to wipe the muslims off the face of the earth---not just the radical ones, we couldn't tell the difference by looking, or by bombing.
Of course it didn't work in the middle east for them, or for Hitler in Europe, or for Mussolini in Africa, or for Tojo in Japan, or for Caesar or Alexander, nearly everwhere.
These people have no standing army, the have no atomic bombs, they have no airplanes, they have no ships, they have no artillery, they have no Pentagons, and even their friends have little of those things and know better than to use them.
What are you afraid of, my friend? We can and will outdo them easily over time by controlling them, which is what we were doing until Bush II showed up and they got lucky and blew up over two thousand people. We have lost twice that many and ten times that many wounded, "punishing" them to little avail.
You better put your study time on the Chinese and the Russians and their allies if you want us to live in peace.
It doesn't take much under duress to make us torture people apparently, and if that is true, we will destroy half the planet sometime if we have enough quacks making the decisions.
