Benoit Family - ENOUGH!

Are you sick of the media circus surrounding this pro wrestler death/murder?

What is the media trying to do? Is their goal to "find the truth" or find a way to nail wrestling?

Give it a rest, already - yes, it's a tragedy, but get this crud off my TV and my Internet!

This Benoit thing will be a whole book on Fayette crime for Bruce!
The statues will be built by fans. The WWE will have at least a year's worth of comments about it. It has just begun.

I'd at least like to see our DA step back as he has been requested to do. Until this is a criminal case with someone to prosecute (which doesn't look likely) he has nothing to do with it. The lead investigator has so far tried to stay off our TV screens except for the press conference. I wish the DA would take a page from his book.

IMNSHO, the only time our DA has done anything quietly and without fanfare is when he snuck down to Albany to testify as a character witness for a career child molester who was Ballard's client when he was a private criminal lawyer. He will work this case for all the face time he can.

The politicians, DA's and judges will all suck up all the media exposure they can get.

Another interesting question, BTW....Why wasn't Randall on the scene or in any of these stories? Is he away?

It was simply not worth coming all the way from the his lake house on a Monday for a stupid murder/suicide. We have to have our priorities.

What a horrible thing for you to say, lawaboveall. Randall was there. Don't you watch TV, or do you not know Randall? He doesn't grandstand before cameras, but he was there! He also works every day. Obviously you don't know him, or you would see him if you are in Fayetteville.

My comment was tongue in cheek. I do know Randall and I know that he has retired in place and is waiting for the string to run out. I watched TV, I saw the investigators and Scott Ballard. The truth is, I am glad that Randall did not speak.

I'm glad our sheriff doesn't prance around in front of the TV cameras. Everytime I see him in the news he is actually working. Unlike our police chief Randall has time for the citizens, he doesn't hide behind a desk.

These guys are doing a great job ... let's let this mess run it's course and allow them to complete this multi-state investigation.

They have been very careful and have refused multiple opportunities to grandstand so they can remain focused on bringing this investigation to an accurate and successful completion.

There are other investigations 'spinning off' of this one.

I have been very impressed with the lack of grandstanding by the officers. They are working hard, concentrating on the important things (the job) and wishing the DA would shut up.

These are the officers to be proud of, and I'm glad to see them get recognition for a job well done.

I suspect we can all agree that Randall is much more of a Sheriff than that buffoon in Clayton County!!!!

I simply don't know about our sheriff. I know he runs as a republican, probably because that is the only way he could win, but I'm not sure who is responsible for the current status of our sheriff's department.
Personally, I think a sheriff should be able to fire every deputy he doesn't want. He was elected, they weren't. Presidents do it!

I agree it's not perfect and there are some fuzzy issues - helicopters and alike - but Sheriff "walking tall" is going to cost Clayton County dearly. Seven million here a couple million there. (Of course tax payers in CC will not have to pay, Ha!) Overtime pay for men's choirs and a number two that OK'd the payroll and who was suppose to retire because of it but, for some reason, has not.

Yes presidents do it.... Clinton included. I guess when presidents do it they don't have to armed deputies on roofs to watch over those going to be fired.
