Oh well, these "talkbacks" as the article described can get out of hand. Which is one reason that I choose to use my own name.

I find that sometimes I can let emotion and passion take over, and sometimes a bit of frivolity, and makes me pen some ignorant comment that should have just stayed in my head. Having my name exposed to some degree reminds me that my prejudices and bigotries, of which they are a few, seem rather juvenille when I type them and place my name next to them. Which then makes me re-examine what I am trying to communicate.

But it was an interesting article.

I will say this, some on this board tend to go over the top, some go over the top and down the other side. Am I guilty of that? Some might think so, and perhaps they may be right. But I find that generally, the discussion on these boards are civil and light hearted. That an occaisional idiot comes along and really begins to personalize it.

I choose to ignore those posters and not to get drawn back into a discussion about their comments. They are nothing more than 3rd party bloggers, high schooler, Brokeback Mountaineers that have so much anger in their soul that they can't be expected to have an intellectual discourse.

So I would encourage others not to give some from the right and the left any attention whatsoever. When you ignore them as the insignificant morons that they are, then they usually will spit a few more vile comments and then walk away, cursing my name by using a derogatory name for it. (Although my best friend in High School back in Bristol Virginia, will never let a conversation end, without saying "goodbye Dick") That is however, used as a term of juvenille endearment, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Gees, to be 17 again, and to know all that I know now!

Oh well, thanks Jeff for the article. You sure do surf a lot. I think I'll blog Peggy Noonan's article. That should cause some interesting debate.

Been following this thread with interest. It seemed you'll were arguing facts until the reference to the Noonan article. It has nothing to do with the previous facts discussed. Ms.Noonan is liked by some and disliked by some.

You and I disagree often but we are always civil (I think?).

It makes for a much better discussion and helps us to understand the other point of view.

Calm down and elevate the discussion. Ignore the onlyrealcat - that's a Whitewater Wildcat anyway - Starr's Mill is the Panthers and McIntosh are the Chiefs. All good schools. It seems if you worked for the FCBOE you would know that.

By the way, I too have been told that Renee Ellis, the speaker at McIntosh, was a speech teacher in APS and does not have a speech impediment.

I've worked at the Ballards house several times over the last few years and all of them have been nothing but nice and cordial to me.
I won't venture an opinion as to his success at his job, the law makes you do things you don't feel are right, as anyone who has served on jury duty can testify too. I like Scott as a person and his family too, it's a thankless job in my opinion and why anyone would want it is beyond me.
