STARR'S MILL ALUMNI SET TO GRADUATE FROM PRESTIGIOUS MIT!

A loving God, hard work, supportive parents, good friends and exceptional teachers all are to be recognized has having part in the accomplishment of Joshua A. Jiricek. This summer on June 8th, 2007 Josh will be one of two students in the history of SMHS to ever graduate from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Mass.
Named as the hardest college to get into on a recent MSN web poll;Josh a '03 SMHS graduate will be recieving his B.S. degree in mechanical engineering. His plans also include being commisioned in the United States Navy on graduation day.
We,his family would like to acknowledge and say "Thank You" to the wonderful teachers at Starr's Mill Highschool that were a big part of his education and growth into the wonderful young man that he has turned out to be.

I am truly proud that we are producing such top quality talent and congratulations again. I find it kind of sad that this is only the second person to graduate MIT. I only say that because my old HS (Bronx H.S. of Science) has graduated tons of MIT grads and 9 Nobel prize winners. Let hope we can get all of our schools to that level.
