Dear Lynn,

Dear Lynn,
Where do we stand on House Resolution 563: Congressional Pardon for Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean Act?
I noticed that you are not a co-sponsor on the bill, but I hope that does not mean you do not support it. As your constituent, I find this an extremely important and pressing issue that deserves prompt and persistent action. The ramifications of this egregious violation to our citizens, protectors and our constitution reach hundreds of miles from the border and touches the lives of all of us here in the third district.
There has been no action on this bill since January 18th of this year and I want to remind you that this issue is not dead to the public and we would like you to take proactive steps to bring resolution to this matter as soon as possible.
Thank you.

Sorry, Cowtipn, but Congressional interference in a jury verdict is an inherently bad policy. The jury is drawn from the community and is presumed to be sensitive to community standards and pressures. If this legislation were to pass it would virtually ensure that the rich and powerful will be able to buy themselves some justice by side-stepping the legal process while the poor, no matter how innocent, will be left to rot in prison.

Let the justice system work according to the Founding Fathers' constitutional plan.
