"Telephone Lineman" Logsdon at it again!!

Our one-term mayor, Harold "Telephone Lineman" Logsdon, will host a “Town Hall-Disinformation Campaign” meeting Tuesday, June 19 to focus on our current and future growth (code word for Coweta cut through traffic), transportation and redevelopment issues. This comes right after Harold's most recent assault on PTC, when he threw out our 40 year old comprehensive plan and brought in a massive Wieland high density slap-em-up/no-trees/live-on-top-of-your-neighbor development.

This meeting is primarily a vast snow job designed to convince the 90% of Peachtree City homeowners that understand that TDK is a massive fraud, that somehow we are all dunces and that it is actually a great deal for our city. Harold has been spouting blather about regional growth for some time...as if he is some kind of regional czar that represents a multi-county area.

Listen to this crock of manure designed to justify TDK: “As we approach Peachtree City’s 50th anniversary and the virtual completion of the plan for our city, we are not finished planning,” Logsdon said. “We need to continue looking forward at what is best for Peachtree City over the next 50 years and what outside influences will be shaping our decisions and affecting the quality of our residents’ lives.”

I guess that depends on your perspective of what is best for PTC. Seems a lot of people who attended the Council meeting recently on Westside annexation were happy about how the present Council voted.
Seems a lot of voters overwhelmingly didn't like Steve Brown's vision of PTC either.

The meeting on the future of PTC isn't all about TDK either. Where do you people come up with this stuff? There happens to be more than that one issue facing the city in the future, first of which is how does a city that has almost reached build-out pay for all the amenities and services the residents expect? It's already well-known that TDK is a bad idea with the new Coweta city forming, that's hardly a topic of debate any more.

They (like the Coweta developers and TDK) have an enormous stake in a single road project, hence their noisy turnout at the council meeting. These Wieland "Railroad Neighborhood" people wanted their second outlet (e.g., the RR bridge), and so they were very vocal (600 or so signed a petition), but they in no way reflected the interests of the other PTC residents.

BTW, extended McDuff Parkway will be so jammed with traffic in the AM, the RR Neighborhood people will have a hard time exiting their own neighborhood. It will look like the Indy Speedway, and will back up a quarter mile at the 74 light.

If the Westside Annexation were placed as a city-wide referendum, it (like TDK) would lose something like 80-20 or 90-10. The people here are currently powerless to stop this kind of stuff...until election time. No more stealth candidates next time!

Mark it down, all 5 council members in a few years will be solidly protective of PTC. Harold, Boone, K-man, Plunkett will all be voted out because of the Westside Annexation...Rutherford will also lose because she supported the TDK right-of-way dedication last December. TDK will eventually be stopped, even if citizen-sponsored delaying lawsuits (there are several prospective ones available) have to be filed in 2008 until we get some leaders elected to our council.

It is my opinion that some people knew that such a devlopment was to be done many years ago, and that TDK would eventually be built.
They also started the rumor as to what a grand idea it would be to have a bridge so that traffic at 54/74 would be relieved.
Some planned city!

It is not like you have a job or something that stands in the way of you coming out to every single event and being a royal pain in the ass for the good citizens of Peachtree City who just want to live here and get along with their neighbors. Get out of our face, Steve. We don't care about you or your agenda.

So, do you like my new picture? meow

First of all, I am not Mayor Steve Brown. You are really naive to believe that in a town of almost 40,000 people that only Steve Brown is strongly opposed to TDK. The numbers are running about 90% of homeowners against this massive fraud, so get over it . . .you Coweta developer-lovers are a real minority view on this issue.

My second comment is that getting along with our neighbors is a great idea, but importing thousands of Coweta cars at rush hour is a little bit too much hospitality on our part, don't you think?

Finally - -yes, I do like your groovy Wellesley College picture. It lets me know what kind of sorry pinko liberal you are, and it explains why you support Stalinist type government from Harold Logsdon (e.g., the "we don't give a damn what you think...we are going to shove it down your throat" government philosophy).

Why don't you and Barak Hussein Obama move to the People's Republic of Massachusetts - - they love high density claptrap development just like you do. Maybe you can live next to the Boston Turnpike and listen to the 18-wheelers all night long.

Just goes to show how flawed your statements are, and how out of touch you must be. Like ANYTHING in Peachtree City, if an actual vote was taken 80% to 90% of the residents wouldn't even bother to vote, as they don't care. Their only concerns with the city are that the grass be mowed and things be kept looking nice, that there be plenty of recreational facilities and activities for their kids, the Police and Fire respond in force when they call - cause it's THIER emergency, and that they pay the minimal amount in taxes for what the city provides. Anything beyond that, they just DON"T care!
Then you have the remaining 10%,15% or 20% of residents that DO have an opinion, and most would vote. Some believing in progress, and realizing something is going to be built there anyway, we might as well have some control over it. And attitudes of "I like it here, I won't close the gate on anyone else moving here too".
Then others, the nay-sayers - "close the door, I'm already here, don't let anyone else in". You know, its evil - or at least Steve says it is. You know, the guy who fought hard against the West Village at one time, oh wait, didn't he later meet with those same developers and try to make that HIS great idea. Twisting things into being HIS idea - now it's great, was something he was good at, and his vocal supporters (followers) somehow didn't see that, and kept on rooting for him.
I remember when a few people fought against the rezoning of the western part of the Industrial Park, for Planterra Ridge Subdivision. Maybe if the few whom fought against that rezoning had won, Steve Brown wouldn't have ended up in Peachtree City, and ultimately slipping into office through voter ignorance. Wouldn't that have been nice, not having to have endured his years of letter writing about everything wrong with PTC. And his journalistic ability to gain a small VERY vocal following, making us all look like idiots. The turmoil and hate Steve created here, starting way back with his "I looked out my window and saw a factory behind my house" letter sure must have got Fayette Citizen readership up over the years, I know I got hooked on seeing what some of the few were complaining about now.

When a poll says that 80% or 90% of a group of homeowners is against something (like TDK or the Westside Annexation), that is not the same as saying that 80% or 90% of the people will actually vote!! You are correct about the apathy in the city, but that will not be the case in the next 2 elections. The extremely high percentages against these two horrifying debacles will mean the highest turnout ever in a PTC election. Anti-growth candidates will walk into office. Watch it happen. The 4 that voted for the annexation will be crushed if they are dumb enough to run again.

There will be many more people voting this time, mainly because our city is TOTALLY dominated by a developer-politician cabal. These developer-boot lickers are so bold that they have chosen to go for the $gusto$ right now...basically destroying the city in one 4 year window.

They are all going to be blown out when they run again. Steve Brown? He will probably use this massive discontent to his political advantage. I predict he runs again for mayor and wins by a fairly wide margin...probably 60-40 or 70-30.

Used to be a cat that had no real personality, but I may go back to that if you are going to be rude to my new photo.

Aside from the fact that Steve Brown was for TDK before he was against it, all that can be extracted from your reply is a comment on density. All I know about density is the West Village is less than 2 units per acre - about the same as the rest of PTC. Boston and other cities have hundreds of units or families living on an acre of land - it is a different thing. And it is the Massachusetts Turnpike - not the Boston Turnpike. We were there just last month and except for the touristy part of the city it is an over-priced crime-ridden dump. As always it is good to come back to PTC.

he and his Council also approved the latest big box in PTC (Target), if big X Mayor Steve had his way, the Lutheran Church @ Peachtree Parkway and Hwy 54 would be a nice 24 hour Walgreens.

I'm steadfastly against TDK, so dont' get confused on the issue.

A lot of people were for it before we found out that PTC west was moving in.

As Logdson keeps saying even to this day, "it was designed to elevate the traffic for the industrial area". It was never discussed as being "THE" major artery from Coweta to Hwy. 74 with an additional 20,000+ vehicles.

The developer blew it when he opened his mouth and disclosed that a new city was going to be added.

Now that we know what is coming across the creek, it would be lunacy to proceed with this horrifying scheme. The traffic engineers have stated thousands of cars are coming. This road project should be scrapped.
