Bonkers: School Accreditation

So what if Clayton County is no longer accredited as a proper school system?

They haven't been accredited in actuality for years, just as other school systems are totally failing the students.

kikenbutt: SB458

Ok, I am still recovering over who's in who's out and the upcoming run-offs. But, I am onto other issues.

SB458 died right? I was talking with a teacher from South Fulton who heard from her teacher grapevine that their school board had a meeting with their principals. They're preparing for Clayton County kids who will more than likely have something like "vouchers." But they're preparing.

Bonkers: Respect for the dead

Asking for respect for the dead is really asking for respect for you! The dead no longer need such "respect."
It is quite possible that neither the dead nor the alive deserve much, if any. respect!

Bonkers: Cuts in Medicare for retirees

Does anyone know why President Bush wants over a 10% added reduction in the payments to Doctors?
I appears now to be about 70% of the charge is paid for approved things only, and I suppose he wants it to be 60% only of the charge?

sherribbeaver: Second! bad experience at Chopstix on Hwy 54

A certain group of ladies decided to give this PTC restaurant a second chance, and were sadly disapointed. The wait staff, as well as the manager, treat you as if they are put out by your mere existence. No apologies are offered, either. There are too many friendly establishements in the area to continue to do business here.

Davids mom: Cyclist

A visionary in the Pasadena bicyling community has passed on. Did you know him or know of him? In my opinion - a young man!

Bonkers: Lessons of history

I was really surprised (yeah, right!) to see that the republicans won all of the political contests in Fayette County.
Since we are having so much trouble right now with crooked banks, inflation, oil problems, wars, supreme court decisions, (always 5-4), jobs, health insurance, monstrous health organizations being our biggest industry, no manufacturing to speak of, growing number of civil service, etc., jobs, poor water supplies, poor air quality, most bridges falling down, dams breaking, levees failing, Interstates 50 years of age and unfit for trucks, no railroads, no bus systems, Our industry left failing (GM, etc.), hedge funds cheating, foreclosures, worn out military, still more wars to fight over oil, poor military leadership--tied to closely to politicians, and, much bigger upper class, much smaller middle class, much bigger poor class.

THE NEGROES ARE COMING!!!
Quick, hide the white women and children! Just place your keys and wallet on the hood and slowly back-away so nobody gets "capped" okay?

antbea1: horgan donor

This is absolutely horrible that one would compare an election campaing with life saving measures as the real organ donors.

The election is over and the voters have spoken: an overwhelming majority re-elected Scott Ballard as district attorney.

Bonkers: Grass is dying

Tree roots are coming through the top of the ground for water. Next big blow will topple most of them.
Yet we automatic sprinkle and buy more plants to water.

Fayette Publius: Election Day Open Thread

This is an open thread for today's election. Please tell your fellow bloggers anything interesting you saw or heard when you went to vote today.

darrylwd: Who really cares more?

darrylwd's picture

One of the Left's complaints against Conservatives is that we as a nation, when being led by the Right, do not focus enough on helping those right here in the US. They make up stats for example, that here in the US there are 17 million AMERICANS living in poverty, and another 40 million without health care, and they go on and on and on. By the way, the examples I listed just then are bogus, so if you repeat them as I stated, you are perpetuating a lie/myth.

jbcriswell: MARTA in Fayette County?

I had the chance to ask commission candidate Lee Hearn about an issue printed in a campaign piece Fayette residents received in the mail over the weekend concerning a desire to bring MARTA buses to the county. He said it’s late in the race to be refuting this kind of untruth but he wants voters to know HE IS ABSOLUTELY NOT IN FAVOR OF BRINGING MARTA TO FAYETTE COUNTY.

Your stupid little newsletter arrived today in the mail and even though I recognize Janet Gregor's writing, I'm not going to comment on that.

KCW56: A little bio on Dave Simmons

Received this from a friend who said it was printed he thinks in the Fayette News earlier this year. Since I didn't think The citizen ran any bio's heres one on Simmons.

Fayette Publius: Attention Republican Primary Voters

As we all know, tomorrow, July 15, is the long awaited Primary Election in Fayette County. You, the Republican voters of this county, will go and cast your vote for county and state offices. In order for you to go to the polls fully informed tomorrow, listed below is an email from Mrs. Judith Moore, formerly the head of the Fayette County Socialist Democrats. In this email, Comrade Moore warmly endorses the current Board of Commissioners and their "21st Century Democrat" ways. Thanks very much for pointing this out, Judith. It just confirms what this reader and many others have figured out long ago. This County Commission, with the exception of Peter Pfeifer, is composed of nothing but RINO's (Republican in Name Only).

Couldn't find the link talking about the beach. I'm here for one of my two days this week! Will be heading west-ish on Wednesday for a little literary tour. Then will turn south-ish until I hit water! Going to be gone for 10 days!!!!! Woohoo, do you think I'm looking forward to it? These 16 hour days are about to wear this old lady out, I do look forward to sitting, all day, with a book at the beach.

The Chrysler Building is now in Arab Hands, I think.

sageadvice: Getting desperate

Bush will ask congress tomorrow for authority to bail out two government created banks who bought too many bad mortgages from crooked banks.

ProLifer: 1100 criminals running free- Ballard needs Bama Holly back

because Scott Ballard can't bring his liberal self to indict them.

That's right, folks. Your elected DA has failed to indict 1100 criminals that the police arrested and sent to him.

Shaquita: Tyrone still exempt from State Law

Tyrone’s new council continues to operate in violation of State Law. The latest, according to the Tyrone web site, concerns the new budget.

truthandjustice: Why should we care who Harold Bost thinks we should vote for

Harold Bost is not a resident of Fayette County or even the state of Georgia, he is a resident of Florida. This is the same arrogant Harold Bost who ran for a position on the Fayette County Board of Commissioners several years ago, won the election and then had to resign when it was discovered that he was not a Georgia resident.
