1100 criminals running free- Ballard needs Bama Holly back

because Scott Ballard can't bring his liberal self to indict them.

That's right, folks. Your elected DA has failed to indict 1100 criminals that the police arrested and sent to him.

Shouldn't Ballard's failure to uphold the law be criminal?

Too bad hard-working old Bama Holly isn't in his office still.

She'd make a dent in the workload by letting the crooks go, just like she said in her MySpace page.

Ballard just needs to go. It is that plain & simple...

1100 criminals running free...if it were 1 that would be too many... but the fact that there 1100? Ballard is a sorry excuse for justice in Fayette County.

Send him back to Daddy's office and let's start seeking justice for all the people of this judicial ciruit...
Ballard....what a disappointmant...
Vote RUDJARD HAYES on July 15!!!

If the DA declines to indict or file charges then they let them go, is that so hard to understand? Oh sorry forgot who I was talking to.

I yam what I yam....Popeye

1100 open records/warrants means there are that many cases that are not FORMERLY filed with the court. They may be waiting on GBI results, case reports, or on pre-trial diversion.
They are NOT dismissed.
Being the former employee, I could guess that about 250 are on pre-trial diversion, 50 or so waiting for Grand Jury, and the rest are waiting on GBI/case reports.
That number (1100) seems much higher then how it was running when I left there in February, though. I don't know where those numbers came from.
Scott has done a great job of getting cases to trial quickly, but sometimes it's out of his control. GBI (who tests all drugs for positive identification before we can formally indict cases) is always a few months behind because they are so busy.

FORMALLY CHARGED not FORMERLY CHARGED? There is a big difference as you should know. Formally charged means no charge has been brought against them by the proper legal office. Formerly means they had no charges filed before. If Ballard's office didn't know the difference that could be the problem.

Those 1100 cases are still going to be prosecuted, they just haven't been formally charged in the form of an indictment or accusation. Sorry for the spelling error!

you stated in a previous comment that you were there at the Republican Forum. You know that this number came from Rudjard Hayes. He stated that he called on this account that day. Yet, Scotty said nothing. Just sat there. Offered nothing up. So, why is that? There were several candidates that went back and refuted what another candidate stated as factual. Yet, our current DA just sat there.

This is a very big amount of open cases, not matter what. I believe this would not happen under the Hayes reign.

Hayes broke the rules at the forum. He, like Obama, will do anything to win.

Thanks again. You just convinced me to switch my vote from Hayes with that stunning revelation. Where have you been all this time. This blog / forum has suffered immensely by the rich political commentaries of TailHummer.

Just thought you would like to know.

I was at the forum, and I heard Rudjard say he got that number, I'm just not sure where he got it from. I know Sheila Studdard is on his side of the campaign, maybe that's where it came from. The woman who handles the DA's computer system was sitting behind me at the forum. She said she ran that number earlier that day and it was 660.
The reason why Scott didn't answer back was because he wasn't sure of the exact number, and didn't want to guess.
Either way, like I said before - Scott does a great job of moving cases. Most of those that have not been indicted are probably waiting on something from law enforcement or GBI.

You are right on! Hayes has the fortitude and organization to keep his fingers on the pulse of everything happening around him. Not a doubt in my mind he will be an agressive DA and look out for the victims who always seem forgotten. I for one can't wait for him to get ito office and start working on the disorganization that currently exists. I can't wait to cast my vote for him!!

me to!

With a Simmons and Hayes combination...criminals won't even think about plotting crimes and burglaries in all of Fayette. They will fear us once again!

He ain't winning.

Submitted by Teilnehmer on Mon, 07/14/2008 - 6:23pm.

Hayes isn't winning, either. He is a liar and cheat. We don't need him for DA.
