susan ringel: Repugnant respone

Quite the contrary; he is entitled to his belief system and his values but to place judgement on other belief systems is in fact a disgrace.

susan ringel: Repugnant

The only thing I find "repugnant" about Father Epps point of view is him; that someone with his supposed enlightenment that is held in "high regard" of responsibility should lead him to such a pompous, arrogant and "unenlightened" view point.

WakeUp: The Sunshine Law

Now, I am not a money hungry county attorney, but I am not an idiot either. I have read the O.C.G.A. § 50-18-72(e)(1) referenced by the county attorneys as the basis for not releasing the Forensic Audit. The questions I raise are based on this line from the Citizen's article:

kittycat: Medicare Part D---A Bouns and a Boon or a Boondogle?

Yesterday, April 19, 2006, I had either the misfortune or the pleasure of listening to a presentation about facts I “really should know” pertaining to Medicare’s Prescription Drug Plans. The U.S. government in its wisdom decided Senior Citizens are suffering due to the high prices of prescription drugs. Prescription drugs are the largest portion of medical expenses for anyone and Senior Citizens on limited incomes are impacted the most financially. To help these seniors, especially those without any prescription drug insurance plans, Medicare came to the rescue. Congress indicated to the decision makers; make a plan that seniors can use to defray the cost of medications in these golden years of theirs.

Cheap Seat Chatter: Injuries, Schminjuries

Oh ye of little faith.

That’s right, I’m talking to you Braves fans. Sure, things in the infield look mighty bleak now, what with Chipper, Renteria and Giles out with injuries.

Fayetteresident: GOODBYE FROM TN (thenatural) ...

Submitted by thenatural on Thu, 04/20/2006 - 11:20am.
I am not Janet Dunn. We have had this discussion before. But I do have good news and bad news for you. The good news is that I am being transferred back to my home town to be near my elderly parents. The bad news is that you and the other folks here will not get the pleasure my company and my commentary. I have to leave and go find a place to live, leaving the wife and kids here till the end of school. Such is life. I will be reading how things progress with the suits, the election etc. but I do not believe that I should comment on things that I can no longer impact. Say good bye for me to that ugly cat(who would eat you given half the chance) my buddies, Fayette Resident (hope he gets well), Dalmation, Robert M and RW Morgan. It is has been fun, but all good things must come to and end.

Mr. Davis, You obviously don't have or don't want to have much sympathy for the plight of the American worker. Oh yes, I know your going to whine about how much pilots are paid.

Mexifornia

We know Dick Lamm as the former Governor of Colorado. In that context his thoughts are particularly poignant. Last week there was an immigration overpopulation conference in Washington, DC, filled to capacity by many of American's finest minds and leaders. A brilliant college professor by the name of Victor Hansen Davis talked about his latest book, Mexifornia," explaining how immigration - both legal and illegal" was destroying the entire state of California. He said it would march across the country until it destroyed all vestiges of The American Dream.

Anyone know why a crowd was gathered and several police cars blocking the drive at Target yesterday evening? Those who speak of the projects being one step closer - I too believe the projects are already here.

hockeydad: projects 1 step closer

my friend, who is a police detective in clayton county, informed me that one of the bankhead projects is shutting down. everyone there received a voucher for an apartment complex in clayton county near mt.

McDonoughDawg: I see the two golf cart tunnels under 54 West. Now a question

The tunnels are clearly on the East and West side of the railroad tracks. How are they going to give access to golf carts that need to actually cross the railroad tracks? Ie going from The Avenue to Home Depot etc? Or from Huddleston to the Avenue? Are they going to have golf carts on the actual bridge? I thought PTC had a PDF of the site plan on the web site, but I can't seem to find it.

Best concert - The Beach Boys. Hands down, the best of the best...and the Fred is a perfect venue for them.

loveptc: Whats up with that house!

Does anyone know the story behind the house that is being "remodeled" on the corner of Peachtree Parkway and Stevens Entry? It has been going on for 2 years.

can someone tell me the name of a good, kind, understanding dentist. Have lots of work to be done; but little insurance or money.

Treading Water: Why all the Fayetteville support?

I am not a big fan of American Idol, but I have been watching from the fringe for the last several weeks. I find it interesting all the "local girl" support that Paris is receiving, yet in the "family video" that was shown for Paris in last night's show (Wednesday, 04/12/2006) she was billed as being from Minneapolis, and a casual mention was made of 'Atlanta", but no reference to Fayetteville at all.

H. Hamster's picture

Ok, we are going to be polite here and address the actual issue without the name-calling, OK?

The illegal aliens I want to discuss are the non-residents of Peachtree City who come here and use our cart paths, playgrounds, lakes and other facilities without paying the taxes we do. Our taxes build and maintain those facilities, the "illegals" pay nothing.

I am looking for a new/ used bunk bed set. Anyone know the best place to look. There are a lot of places in the AJC but they are all distributers that have very high prices.

Baseball fan: PTC baseball feeder programs need a serious overhaul.

After watching High School baseball in Fayette/Coweta and around Atlanta, one thing is obvious - the feeder programs in PTC aren't very good. Kids come up through the PTC Little League system that have no clue on the fundamentals and strategy of the game. The kids that want to play the game at anywhere above a basic level are being shortchanged by the PTC Rec Dept and forced to find other programs and facilities to suit their needs. The Rec Dept continues to pump money and resources into a dinasour of a program called Little League, and descriminates against anyone who wants to play youth baseball at higher level. Look at the rosters of local High Schools and see where the real ballplayers come from - travel ball programs and private facilities like Home Plate and The Dugout Club. Why are we forcing the most dedicated and highest performing players out of town? By the way, these well-rounded kids also tend to be very strong students and peer leaders, so you "anti-athletics" folks can take your opinions and your wussies-in-training somewhere else. Offering recreational sports is a fanstastic idea and should be available to all that want to play. However, don't force everyone into the same mold; let the sky be the limit for those who want to shoot for the stars (or at least launch a screamer in the gap for a stand-up double!).

nwforkids: Enough is Enough!

Enough is enough when it comes to our so-called elected officials pulling out the race card. I am a citizen of Fayette County and I am a Black woman who is fed up to you know where with people like Cynthia Mckinney always claiming that they were harmed because of the color of their skin.
