Kudos Mr. Davis-Give Me A Break!

Mr. Davis, You obviously don't have or don't want to have much sympathy for the plight of the American worker. Oh yes, I know your going to whine about how much pilots are paid. Mr. Davis, they aren't paid enough. They have infinitely more responsibility than just about any profession I can think of and they work in a much more hostile and uncontrollable enviornment. Lee Moak was 100% correct in his and the unions approach to Delta. They want to abrogate their legal and moral responsiblity to uphold a binding contract. I bet management has never considered cancelling any of managements golden parachutes nor will they ever do it. Come on Davis, open your eyes to the real world of America's decline.

Pilot responsibility???? They have no more responsibility than most other occupations. We all have responsibilities for the safety of others in our jobs. A pilots responsibility is no more important than the responsibility of a fireman, police officer, truck driver, soldier, bus driver, welder, electrician....need I go on. As a matter of fact being a pilot is just another learned trade. With the proper training 50% of the people in this country could easily do that job. It doesn't require a god like figure.

Environment...give me a break. What about the environment our oil field workers dwell in? The environment our soldier have fighting terrorism. I guess in your mind a pilot has a harsher environment than a firefighter entering a burning house or a cop taking fire from some dirt bag. How about the plumber crawling under your house or the coal miner. The construction worker on the side of the interstate as the pilot speeds through the construction zone placing his life in danger. I could go on and on. But, I'm sure there is no reasoning with a pilots wife.

OPEN YOUR EYES to the real decline of America. Your union / entitlement mentality.

commenting on things you know nothing about? You obviously don't know anything about flying a 777. Do I? No! But I also know i't can't be the easiest thing on earth to do. Sure people risk there lives putting out fires, catching the bad guy etc, but look how many lives are in the hands of a pilot, mind you at 50,000 ft in the air.Not to mention the hundreds of buttons and controls in the cockpit.
Now don't get me wrong,I dont feel it is right for the pilots to be showing there butts like they do. However it isn't the easiest job in the world.

'Get Real' must not work and is prob sitting at home on welfare as he is on this board ALL the time on all subjects. He just babbles...if people quit responding to him, he will go away, or burst in a big hissy fitt of venom. Either way, it is no loss

No venom, No hissy fit, No go away. I'm yours to love and keep. Babble...yes perhaps a bit. But, at least my babbling makes a valid point and stirs up good dialogue. Get Real on welfare???? Nope. I probably pay more in taxes in one year than you earn in 10. I employ many people. Provide great paying jobs. Fund 401K plans. Provide benefits. Put up with couple ungrateful whiny employees and love them in spite of their lack of knowledge of what it takes to run a business.

I've gone from broke to having wealth without ever using "other peoples money". I have been punitively punished for my success and continue to succeed in spite of the obstacles our government places in my way every day. I've overcome dead beats, thefts, recessions, foreign competition and I have never given up. As an employee I had lost a month's worth of wages and my pension from a bankruptcy. I never look back but rather I scramble to the next opportunity and work like a dog and make something happen out of it. I resent whiners, slackers and dependents. I will go out of my way to help someone who is trying to better themselves. I am no different than many other Americans who pursue the REAL AMERICAN DREAM. So shut up and go do something with your life.

Do you have a clue how elitist and dumb you last posting was. I know I have some dumb ones but they are done in a satirical manner. The problem with your last post is that you believe what you say.

Or maybe it is just me. Yes, perhaps you’ve enlightened me. I forgot who we’re talking about. Pilots. May I be forgiven by the almighty ALPA. Perhaps an ALPA pilot will lay his hands on me and I will be cleansed and forgiven. It’s just an awful thing that the pilots have to work harder than the rest of us. I know the rest of us little people just don’t understand how bad it is for “Heroes of Delta”. Shame on me for not realizing that the only dangerous job in the world is being a Delta pilot.

Good Grief! At least we agree about one thing. It’s a job. Like I said before, with a little time even I could be trained to be a Delta Hero. I can see it now…me…flying the skies with the lives of the helpless victims completely dependent on my heroic efforts. All the ordinary people bowing down as I pass by. Yes, a legend in my own mind. Ok, I’ll play.

Tell you what. Why don’t you go polish your hubby pilot’s shoes and wings and quit trying to make him out to be more than he really is. He has a neat and honorable occupation but in the end it is only a job. And no….I’m not jealous. I make far more than a Delta pilot. So don’t come back with that one.

Get Real might just be a company owner paying taxes to bail out these companies. And don't forget--- who paid for these airports so pilots could fly ? The taxpayer. Get Real is right--- there is an entitlement mentality---lottery tickets, welfare, get rich game shows, guaranteed union contracts, guaranteed pilot indulgence or management greed. America is getting soft and there are many developing countries that will surpass our dwindling work ethic. Pilots are like bus drivers--- they do a jog and they get paid.
