Finding part time job!

I've tried everything else. How does a 57 year old spunky lady who can't work weekends find a part time afternoon and evening position? It's hard to compete with the younger people.
Any suggestions?

As a working Mom I am always looking for safe, EXPERIENCED, loving childcare. Many of my working friends also have children and are always dealing with the challange of finding quality childcare, while many of us work full-time there are part-time workers looking for loving, Grandmother atmosphere childcare as well. Good Luck.

a hotel. You can call your own availability. The hours are 8 hour shifts and the money is good.

Bless your heart! There are many of us out here like you. We read how businesses values the "mature" workers because we have the experience, work ethic, loyalty, dependability, etc. Not to mention the fact that we probably could get the job done quicker, and more accurately than these youngsters!! However, try to find a job! Usually we are advised to go into retail, but I've found that the biggies like WM, HD, etc. don't even give you a call. I've applied countless times on Snagajob.com, no results. Or to go through a temporary agency, which does not work well either. Add to this mix the school kids will soon be out for summer and have most of the part-time jobs. I wish I did have some useful advice to lend, but I don't, all I can do is empathize with you and wish you well. If you do find the magic answer, share it with the rest of us.

I've done the snagajob, no calls either.
I've even tried fast food. Think I will try to become a manager, then I will hire all of us older, dependable, workers.

a business that was managed and operated by "mature" ladies, with spunk, would be on time, done right, and surpass these whippersnappers!

For those of us who just want a few hours of work. Let's all apply to the same fast food place. When we're in charge we can schedule all us older worker's for the hours we need. I bet we could fill a whole week. Not everyone want's weekdays. I bet the place would be clean, friendly, and make a huge profit for someone. We know the value of a job well done.

Real Estate. See Wade Gaddy, he'll tell you how you can make $100k part time - if you attend his school.

nice idea; however, some folks need a job or two or three and the check that goes along with it, and they need it now. If they had the $130-$425 course fees, they'd probably pay a bill.

I am not inclined to go back to school to learn real estate. I just want a little extra, not a new career.

Home Depot or Lowes. They'll want weekends, but you probably have a good reason not to do that, so just tell them. But be sure to act quickly because in a couple of weeks the ex-Delta workforce will be entering the job market and beleve me, they will be glad to work weekends.

I work with special needs children all week. I need some time off to catch my breath. I love my job, it just doesn't pay enough.
