You can tell when candidates for political office are behind in the polls. They start trashing their opponent. Intelligent voters recognize these nasty tactics.

With the next election, a new era will begin in Tyrone. Gordon Shenkle and Traci Young gave very honest straight foward answers the other night. And when Traci said words to the effect that town employees will be held accountable and paid for performance, you could visualize who will be shopping for new samsonite. No one thinks Smola will get elected except Smola.

This is a recent 7 min. speech Mike Huckabee gave. I hope it will peak your interest. He can win, he is the only Republican Candidate rising in Iowa.

The Tyrone candidates' forum was a resounding sucess. The forum provided voters with clear choices. The old government of Michael Smola for Mayor and Ex-Planning Commission members Ken Matthews & Jesse Nasianceno stuck by their past destructive ordinances of taking away property rights, high density development with sewer and strong support of Town Managers Barry Amos & Valerie Fowler.

Did the a/c get fixed in the gym? I think BOE promised by this week?

Tyrone had its election candidates forum Oct. 15 at the Legacy Theatre. The citizens seemed to appreciate the pointed questions asked by the Citizen Newspaper Representatives.

Tonight, Smola took credit for EVERYTHING good the town has done in the past years....right down to patting himself on the back for the fountain in Shamrock Park! The funny thing is everyone knows he did everything he could to do away with the park, much less put a fountain in it! Many locals worked very hard on their own time to restore the park.

As well as signing the petition, let's make it visual! Everyone that wants Tyrone's town manager to go, put a red ribbo

It looks like we had a good turn out of about 200 residents, and all of the candidates participated, except two.

The first BCS poll is out and as a fan this does not appear to be as controversial as some in the past. I would have to agree wit the top 10; especially Ohio Sate, South Florida, Boston, LSU and Oklahoma taking the first five spots. What do you all think?

In the last entry I discussed Mike Huckabee's stance on two very critical issues; Iraq, and taxes. (See blog Huckabee loves fairttax). I had received feedback in regards to the fairtax. Because I feel Huckabee does not get enough play in the Main Stream media, I simply want to explain his stances on issues rather then defend them. However, I will answer the concerns that were voiced later in this entry.

It is amazing how much traction Mike Huckabee has gained in the receant polls. Just last week, in a poll of Iowa registered voters, it showed Mike moving into third place right behind a falling Fred Thompson and right in front of Guliani.
