Tyrone's new Mayor and Council

With the next election, a new era will begin in Tyrone. Gordon Shenkle and Traci Young gave very honest straight foward answers the other night. And when Traci said words to the effect that town employees will be held accountable and paid for performance, you could visualize who will be shopping for new samsonite. No one thinks Smola will get elected except Smola.

Come January, no person in Tyrone will ever go to sleep praying, "now I lay me down to sleep, I pray my property rights to keep". No person in Tyrone will find they have bought property thats 'unique easements' left them with no real road, no garbage pick up or mail at their door. Nor, feel that the only people who could have granted that easement could only be reached by ouija board or seiance.

Who is the Snake Charmer? We've heard from the 4 people who care & will vote.
Where is the Who, What, When, Where? on the snakes killing and eating the waterskier in the BULrushes?
I don't have a dog in the fight but Somaras & Amos have more credet-ability than you.
How about some Senoia blogging? The mayor's race down there has more to do w/ PTC than this.

"...mayor's race down there has more to do w/ PTC than this."

This is a FAYETTE COUNTY paper. Not a Peachtree City Association. Tyrone, Senoia, Fayetteville, PTC, and the County are all involved and interested in the going-ons in this county and the cities within this county.

BladderQ are you crazy?

Posting the same blogs seven times officially makes you crazy.

Hands down these three people won the debate. They spoke with the most intelligence and had the most sound political policy for Tyrone. I thought Young's continued referral to ACCOUNTABILITY IN GOVERNMENT was especially insightful!! That probably scared the heck of Barry Amos.

Gordon Shenkle was also VERY IMPRESSIVE!!

Barry is acting outside the scope of his duties & he has apparently assigned himself a new duty - supporting who he wants elected - and he can't even vote in the election. He is not even a citizen/resident of Tyrone. Nor does he own property in Tyrone, nor does he support any of the Tyrone businesses, & he won't allow Tyrone businesses to bid on certain work assignments that need to be done in the town. Way to support Tyrone business Barry!! The reason he does this is because he wants to run the current businesses out of business so he can farm out the re-development of downtown to his private cronie contractors. Barry is pulling the strings as usual. ARE WE GOING TO CONTINUE TO LET THIS HAPPEN PEOPLE??

VOTE DON RENWALDT FOR MAYOR!
VOTE GORDON SHENKLE & TRACY YOUNG FOR TOWN COUNCIL - IF NOT THE YOU WILL GET THE SAME THING THAT YOU HAVE HAD FOR THE LAST 8 YEARS - barry amos running the town of tyrone into the ground.

How can anyone support a candidate who doesn't believe in what the country was founded on? Don Renwaldt made it very clear Monday night he thinks parts of the Bible are nothing but folklore. A foolish statement like that will likely lead to foolish decisions "if" elected.

Jondough, this wasn't actually a debate but rather a candidate forum..Big Difference. I'll agree totally with you on Tracy Young, but if you were impressed with Shenkle...you're easily impressed. His answers carried little substance and were vague to say the least. Jesse, whatever his last name is, seemed almost confused at times. Eric Dial, however, seemed to be very confident with his answers, a great communicator, and was firm with his position on the issues. No waivering whatsoever.
Young and Dial are exactly what Tyrone needs.

Way to pat yourself on the back Eric Dial!! That bible trick that you think was some great revelation seems awfully similar in character to the smearing of Judge Hunstein that you are under ethical violation investigations for, huh? You remember that don't you, where you and your friend that wanted to be on the Supreme Court of GA.....ya'll called Judge Hunstein a one-legged jew!! Which is totally not true! Yes, that is you Eric - dirty tricks, as another poster put it, but they think the buck ends at Barry but I think the buck began with Dial!!

As for Gordon Shenkle, I have met the man and talked to him, he goes to town hall meetings regularly and it is recorded that he has spoken out on all the main issues. Shenkle is way more qualified for town council than Dial. Shenkle has been involved in the town government and now he is running on a STRONG PLATFORM THAT WILL GET MY VOTE!!

Shenkle was much more knowlegable than Dial and everyone there saw it. I've never seen Dial at a town hall meeting except once is 7 years!
As for Renwaldt, you guys are taking something out of context from...5...years ago, that is your best shot at helping elect Smola! and that is sad, everyone thought the question inappropiate but yall cause that was the best you could come up with. He is squeeky clean. There is no history of being condosending or misleading to the public or marital infidelity. This is your best shot and it kind of fizzled.
"How can anyone support a candidate who doesn't believe in what the country was founded on?" that is what you said, right?
Do you KNOW what the constitution was founded on? Let me tell you....
Foundational Principles
The Constitution is built on basic principles.

%%Popular Sovereignty%%_ - That the power of the governement lies with the people. [people in Tyrone have been complaining they have had no say in what has been going on] The belief that government is for the benefit of its citizens.

%%%Limited government%%- Since the people supposedlty give government its power, it is limited to the power given to it. [again, not in Tyrone] Government does not derive its power from itself.

%%%Separation of Powers%%% - the US Government is divided into three branches so that no one branch has all the power. [no Barry's] Each branch has its own purpose: to make the laws, execute the laws, and interpret the laws.

%%%Checks and Balances%%% - In order to protect the citizens [from the Barryorrites] a system of checks and balances.

%%%Judicial Review%%% - This is a power that allows the Supreme Court to decide whether acts and laws are unconstitutional.[but according to Tyrone's own lawyer and town manager...they don't have to abide by a higher law than their own!]

(1) Separation of Church & State. This brought about two clauses in the Bill of Rights that ensure that there will be said separation - (a) the Establishment clause: which states that the government is not allowed to establish a national, state, or local religion and (b) the Endorsement Clause: which states that the government, at any level is not allowed to endorse one particular religion over another. Did ya know that?

Also, Dial is a member of some clergy at some off the beaten path fundamentalist chrurch started by his dad. That is fine, but I don't want any of that in my government!! Do what you want with your own time but don't impose your beliefs on others. WE have had enough of that with the current adminstration in Tyrone!!

if Dial is wanting to be hired to work in the presidential election? If he wanted us to think him sincere should have started by going to the meetings and showing an interest in the workings of our local government. This just looks like he wants this to build his resume
