Farrah-con promotes race war

"It's time for you scared-to-death Negroes to bite the dust," he said. "Our people must be free. This peaceful coexistence with the murder of our people has to stop."

I'm sure if you tried you could have mis-characterized Farrakhan's words a little more, but what you've done is misleading enough.

I'm certainly no fan of Farrakhan's but his message is certainly positive for a particular community in desperate need of uplifting messages. And I can also spell his name correctly.

What is the problem with this:

"I want to talk to my gang-banging family," he said. "You make it very difficult for me. In the '60s we knew who the enemy was. But in 2007 you are the enemy. How can I do what is right by you while I watch you do wrong by one another?"

...

The success of a few is negated by the continued poverty of millions of blacks in America, Farrakhan said, adding that now is the time to stop the cycle of poverty and violence.

If you're going to argue with the man, at least understand his position. He speaks of self-empowerment for the black community:

'We have to come out of the thinking of a slave and come into the thinking and acting of free men and women,'' Farrakhan said. ''We cannot depend on others for what the horrible condition of our people demands now that we do for ourselves.''

Thank you for listening and 'hearing'. No one wants or is promoting a 'race war'. . . especially Farrakhan. The various leaders of the 'black' community are speaking to their audience - certainly not to illicit fear in the minds of fellow citizens. The words and promises of our Constitution are for all citizens. If one is prepared educationally, physically, and socially - he is empowered to take advantage of the opportunities that this country offers. It is not the KKK that stands in the way of progress for the 'black' community - but the 'gangs' that create violence on our streets. Everyone in the 'black' community is not a Muslim, nor agrees with everything that Farrakhan has to say - but this one concept is being accepted by all. And many are working diligently to raise the educational, economic, and social level of our community. Poverty, ignorance and violence within our own community are our enemies today.

I may have misunderstood Farrah-con's comments, but I certainly did not mischarachterize them. Tell me, oh great squirrel, what was the precise meaning behind the comment, "Our people must be free. This peaceful coexistence with the murderer of our people has to stop."?

Beaver - stop the guilt trip! You're free of any blame - so have no fear!! The murderers of 'our' people today are the gang bangers, lack of education, and we are no longer going to 'co-exist with these murderers - but do all we can as a community to get rid of them so that our children can pursue their dreams! Many in the black community hear this loud and clear. No one is coming after you Beaver. Relax - or stand with your fellow citizens to combat this enemy. Stand - or get out of the way with your talking about 'race wars'. That was Charlie Manson's goal - and he's in jail today.

Read the post directly above your last one. Then look up the word "metaphorical." Minister Farrakhan, as any great orator does be it Hitler or John F. Kennedy, uses allegory in his rhetoric to convey understanding. You're reading an article from the AJC. For a true understanding of what the man believes and argues, why not read something he wrote? I'd suggest his book Torchlight for America or his writings in the Final Call.

I find Farrakhan's rhetoric to be both insightful and incendiary. I have major problems with a great deal of his positions as I myself am an Atheist and have little use or respect for religions, organized or otherwise. However one cannot deny that in the black community, words of self-empowerment and motivation to find self-respect while rejecting risky life-choices is greatly needed. In fact, his message could be abstracted to enable anyone of any demographic group to uplift themselves.

Yeah,

Calypso Louie is a real man of the people. Here are some of the words from his own mouth. I wouldn't waste money on a book he has written except to use as kindling.

White people are potential humans…they haven’t evolved yet.""
Philadelphia Inquirer, 3/18/00

- According to a journalist's account, "Farrakhan called 'the white man' the 'anti-Christ' to rousing applause."
Jackson, MS, 9/19/97, Clarion-Ledger, 9/21/97

“The Jews don't like Farrakhan, so they call me Hitler. Well, that's a good name. Hitler was a very great man.”

"The Jews have been so bad at politics they lost half their population in the Holocaust. They thought they could trust in Hitler, and they helped him get the Third Reich on the road."
Saviours' Day speech, Chicago, February 1998

"Were they not involved in the slave trade? Yes, they were ... and to the extent that they were involved, somebody has to bring them to account. And I believe that has fallen on me."
Interview with New York Amsterdam News, January 1994

“It appears that there is a genocidal plan against Black people”

"FEMA is too White to represent us and so is the Red Cross."
(They sure do like to abuse those FEMA dollars now, don't they)

"A black scientist named Yakub really invented the white race 6,600 years ago."

“I hasten to tell you that the precious lives that were lost in the World Trade Center was a cover, a cover for a war that had been planned to bring a pipeline through Afghanistan to bring oil from that region, oil owned by Unical of which Dick Cheney is a stock holder."

“They call them terrorists, I call them freedom fighters.”
