Another wonderful week of things

Oil is knocking on $100.00 a barrell! Doesn't that eventually translate to 4.00 to 4.50 dollars per gallon of gas? Also all things made of petroleum, nearly everything not eaten, will soon become 100% higher!
We tried to stop Saddam from doing that and it still happened!
Can anyone tell me why the European gas isn't $10-12.00 per gallon now? It has been $4-5.00 for 20 years!
The Secretary of the Treasury was selected by the administration to go ahead and tell us the housing market was going to continue to get worse, since the rest of them had been saying it was a temporary situation!
Mrs. Cheney said Dick was a eighth cousin of Barack Hussein Obama! Must have been devastating....to Obama.
Anybody know if it was from Obama's Mother, or his Father? Or Cheney's.....never mind.
Last year people on social security got a net 2% decrease due to health cost insurance. I understand it may be much more decrease next year. Yet their property taxes are skyrocketing and food is also up considerably. Old people don't buy many clothes. Repair people are out!
We are getting close to a TRILLION dollars for the wars that is still off budget! We just borrow it from China or Japan due to congress authorizing the expenditures at the request of Bush. To protect our soldiers, I am told.
Are these of the books loans considered kind of like very long term capital expenditures that we may never repay or collect from the taxpayers?
Three or four more PTC stores went under recently. That is good for the retailers rent costs, I suppose. I suspect we will see many more soon.
We are out of water!!!! It doesn't matter now just how muich it rains this winter (excluding Noah II) the lakes will be dry next spring. Looks like we should have built a couple of more lakes and dug scores of wells, doesn't it? Trucking in water for industry and cooking will be tough.
Perdue tried to blindfold us by jumping onto the Army Corp of Engineers for releasing some of the lakes' water---like he owned those lakes! That is a federal law and he knows it. Covering up for poor planning in my opinion.
There are namy other bad things and a very few good ones, but I must stop. Maybe we can make it til January 2009 someway!

Smitty, you told the facts, I guess, but I could have done with a couple of good things also, just to balance my Ostrich tendencies!

Without the rain, we do have very nice weather for walking in and at which to look.

The little Kroger is still open.

We must have the Tennis Center paid off by now!

There have been no accidents at the rail-car storage yards near Walmart.

I hope the contract to rework the police station says that if they find the old toxic dump under it they will stop repairs.

It is my understanding that PTC plans to finally build a community center, a large one, near the Library. It will have facilities not only for young people but also an arts theater, a gym, a bowling alley, and a restaurant.

More good news to come!
