DIRTY TRICKSYou can tell when candidates for political office are behind in the polls. They start trashing their opponent. Intelligent voters recognize these nasty tactics. Michael Smola had to trash Don Rehwaldt because he's so far behind. I would have busted him in the mouth if he had tried those dirty tricks on me. But I respect Rehwaldt for being a gentleman. His level headedness shows that he will be a fair honest Mayor and not that kind of underhanded person in office. If you do dirty tricks on your opponent, you will do it to the citizens; and we've certainly seen plenty of dirty tricks done to the property owners by Smola in his 5 years on council. The big story however, about dirty tricks, is that Barry Amos had a hand in it. Barry told a very reliable person before the forum that there would be a big surprise for Rehwaldt at the forum. Amos is a hired employee of the citizens. Delving into political races is outside of his duties as Town Manager, particularly since he is not a citizen of Tyrone. When a government employee acts outside of his duties he is guilty under the law for tortious liability and subject to monetary damages, which is not covered by any insurance policy. You're really on your own now Barry. Better be saving some of that $100,000 salary to pay your own legal fees. PREDICTION: Rehwaldt in a 2-1 landslide.
