The Panthers placed third and had five wrestlers place in the top six. Cory Radcliffe (140) placed first overall, while Brandon Witta (145), Jeff Partlow (215) and Bradley Conner (279) placed second and Patrick Waters (112) placed fourth. PTC Packers win 10 U Super Bowl
The 10 and under Peachtree City Packers recently were crowned 2005 Super Bowl Champions in the cross-county league. The Packers finished with an undefeated 11-0 record, and capped their season with an exciting 25-24 last-second victory in the Super Bowl game.

Teams play games before Xmas tournaments
The basketball action on Tuesday night was relatively light as most teams were preparing for a game or two before the holidays and holiday tournaments.

Indians and Vikings make mark at South Metro tournamentWhile Fayette County had five teams place in the top 20, East Coweta and Northgate placed in the top 15 with the Indians placing seventh with 133.5 points and Northgate placing 13th with 102 points. Program benefits needy in GeorgiaHunters donated 733 harvested deer to the 2005 Hunters for the Hungry (HFTH) program, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Division (WRD). This year’s donations will provide approximately 18,000 pounds of venison that food banks across the state will use to make nutritious meals for thousands of needy Georgians this holiday season. It’s not every weekend where two county rivals match up and yet, this past Saturday had McIntosh travel to Starr’s Mill and Sandy Creek travel to Fayette County. Starr’s Mill swept the McIntosh boys and girls, while Sandy Creek split with Fayette County, as the girls won and the boys lost.
Five local teams crack top 20 of South Metro tournamentMcIntosh High School hosted the South Metro Invitational wrestling tournament last Friday and Saturday and all of the local teams partcipating placed in the top 20. Starr’s Mill finished fourth with 165 points, while Fayette County placed 11th with 104 points, Whitewater placed 14th with 91 points, McIntosh took 15th with 85.5 points and Sandy Creek placed 18th with 71 points. New Year’s Eve race the idea of a local parentDean Breest was a passionate follower of cross country this past season and the talent he saw on the trails around the area amazed him. It also gave him an idea to bring a fundraising race to the county that would be exactly like a race he ran in Brazil a number of years ago. The race, which was sponsored by a newspaper, had runners begin a race late on New Year’s Eve, so that the runners would be start the race in one year and finish it in the next. Several state champs from Gym South Level 5 teamThe Gym South Level 5 girls team barely missed team finals (Top 12) of the state championship this year. Individually, Shayla Moore is the state vault champion (9.525) champion and Lauren Spier is the state floor champion (9.475) and state bars champion (9.4). Locals perform well at Winter Flurry race at AMSThe second Winter Flurry race of the season was held at Atlanta Motor Speedway last weekend and the races were hotly contested with several local racers doing very well. Over 30 teams coming to wrestle in PTC today and tomorrowMcIntosh High School will be the site for one of the season’s largest and most competitive wrestling tournaments in the Atlanta Metro Area. Thirty-one teams from South of I-20 will be competing in the South Metro Tournament starting Friday at 5 p.m. and continuing on through Saturday. Area teams competing include McIntosh, Starrs Mill, which is ranked 10th in AAAAA, Sandy Creek, Fayette County, East Coweta, Newnan, Northgate, which is ranked sixth in AAAA, Whitewater and Woodward Academy, which is ranked third in AAAA.
