Teams seeking momentum as Christmas break looms

Starr’s Mill took on the other area school with Mill in their name, Mundy’s Mill, on Tuesday night, and both the boys and girls teams lost.

The Lady Panthers lost an incredibly close game, 41-40, with Kirstin Massmann leading the team with nine points and Ashley Zilles adding eight points. The boys fell to the Tigers 44-37 with Mark Harris leading the Panthers with 13 points.

Starr’s Mill hosts McIntosh on Saturday night with the girls playing at 6 p.m. and the boys scheduled to start 15 minutes after the girls game ends.

East Coweta’s boys and girls met Newnan. The Lady Indians lost 62-36 and the boys lost 67-56.
East Coweta hosts Mundy’s Mill on Friday and travels to Carrollton for games at 3 and 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Northgate’s boys and girls hosted Crawford County last night. They will play at Central, Carrollton on Saturday with games beginning at 6 p.m.

Landmark Christian School’s girls got a 50-34 win over Darlington with Christian Hunnicut scoring 17 points for the Lady War Eagles. The boys lost 66-53.

Landmark hosts Greenforest on Saturday with games beginning at 6 p.m.

Sandy Creek’s girls got a huge 78-47 win over Douglas County with Lynsey Paschal scoring 30 points for the Lady Patriots. The boys lost 92 - 72.

Sandy Creek will play at Chapel Hill tonight and will play at Fayette County tomorrow with games starting at 5 p.m.

Fayette County boys and girls swept Union Grove on Tuesday. The Lady Tigers won 40-35 with Jasmine Facey’s 10 pints leading the way for Fayette County. Tessah Holt added nine points and Simone Heath chipped in eight points. The boys won 75-68 and got a big game from senior Channing Welch who had 19 points.

Fayette County will play at Newnan tonight and will host Sandy Creek tomorrow with the girls game starting at 5 p.m.

McIntosh, Our Lady of Mercy and Whitewater were all off on Tuesday. McIntosh travels to Lithia Springs tonight before tomorrow’s game at Starr’s Mill, while Our Lady of Mercy hosts Whitewater tonight before tomorrow’s game at Atlanta International School.
