• Fayetteville resident Amelia Gaillard placed 24th in sabre at the North American Cup for the Ohio State Buckeyes fencing team.

• Alison Graham, a Starr’s Mill graduate and current soccer player for Clemson University, made the second team for the Southeast Region at the 2005 Soccer Buzz Awards. Melanie Schneider, a Mcintosh graduate and current player on the Wake Forest University team, also made the second team.
