Robert "Steve" Juhan, 51, Senoia, died Feb. 16. 2010. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bobbie J. Juhan, a brother, Eddie Juhan Jr., and grandparents, Bob and Bonita Hattaway, Paul Juhan Sr., and Vera Prater. He loved hunting and the outdoors and tried to fix anything with his hands. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Griff Jones officiating. Survivors include a son, Clint Dyer, Sharpsburg; father, George "Ed" Juhan Sr., Brooks; sisters, Rhonda and Garry Marlow, Palmetto, and Bonita and Greg Powers, Brooks; and best friend, Mark Almand. Jacqueline "Jackie" Edwards Hambrick, 89, died Feb. 19, 2010. She was born in Statesboro. She was preceded in death by her parents, I. Ardell and Willie Edwards, her husband Virgil Cicero Hambrick, who died in 1970, daughters, Pamela McRee and Sherra Young, and grandson, Stephen Lotti, and a sister, Willie "Sancie" Avera. She took pride in the ever-growing size of her family. She loved to cook and visit with friends and family and will be best remembered for her laughter, and sly wit. Graveside services were at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Atlanta.

Camillo DiSciullo, 85, Dublin, formerly of Sharpsburg, died Feb. 29, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincenzo and Rupina Campagna DiSciullo. He had served two years in the Italian Navy and was retired from Republic Steel in Warren, Ohio with 32 years of service. He was an active parishioner at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Warren, and an active parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church In Peachtree City.

B. Hugh Smith, 86, Peachtree City, died Feb. 19, 2010. He was born in Rico, Ga. He served in the United States Navy in World War II. He was retired from Life and Casualty Insurance Company and then worked as a home inspector for Fayette State Bank and the Bank of America. He was a former member of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church having served as a deacon and Sunday school superintendent. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Peachtree City, having served as a deacon and an elder. He was recently awarded his 50-year membership pin with the Fayetteville Masonic Lodge #711, where he was also a Past Master. His love of roses led him to become an active member of the South Metro Rose Society. He had also participated in the Relay for Life as a cancer survivor.

Myra Ann Crews, 81, Fayetteville, died Feb. 20, 2010. She was born Aug. 12, 1928 in Fayette County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny I. and Irene Rowland Goodman, her husband of 33 years, Lewis Sandford Crews, brothers, Grady Goodman, Rowland Goodman, Bill Goodman, Dorsey Goodman, Hershall Goodman, and Johnny Goodman, and sisters, Sadie Eubanks, Julia Perry, and Doris Williams.

Emily Elizabeth Caldwell Rhodes, Fayetteville, died Feb. 21, 2010. She received her master’s degree from North Georgia College. She had worked with Georgia Mountain Crafts in Gainesville, and was retired from Hall County's Sardis Church Elementary School. She loved to travel and had been to Canada, Africa, China and Europe and Australia four times. Graveside services were at the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Alvaton, with the Rev. Miriam Beecher officiating.

Marjorie D. Moseley, 89, Sharpsburg, formerly of Fayetteville, died Feb. 9, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond L. Moseley Sr., and a brother, 1st Lt. Clifford Deibler. She was born in Sherrill, N. Y., and was a graduate of Plattsburgh State University. She and her husband were owner-cofounders of Moseley Linoleum & Tile Co., in East Point. She was a longtime member of Fayette Presbyterian Church. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Cliff Haddox officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City.

Patricia A. "Pat" Lang, Peachtree City, died Feb. 10, 2010. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Luretha Kee Lang. She was born Nov. 16, 1929 in Asher, Okla. and a nurse in Norman, Okla. until her marriage in 1949. She moved to the Atlanta area and was employed by Avon for 30 years. She enjoyed playing bingo, and watching football, basketball and ice skating. She requested not to have a memorial service which was honored.

Michael David McGuffey, Palmetto, died Feb. 12, 2010. He was a 2009 graduate of Arlington Christian School and was employed at Publix in Tyrone. Services were at the Parrott Funeral home chapel with the Rev. Dr. David Hammonds and the Rev. Ron Edwards officiating. Interment was at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery, Palmetto.

Roy Lynn Edmondson, 53, Fayetteville, formerly of Hapeville, died Feb. 13, 2010. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Sam Edmondson. He was  32 year long employee of the Genuine Parts Co. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Dr. Biff Coker officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City.

Marvin Keith Prevatt, 47, Fayetteville, died Feb. 5, 2010. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Mae Prevatt, and father-in-law, Charles Whitener. Memorial services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Teresa A. Prevatt, Fayetteville; daughters, Crystal S. and Brad Richardson, Peachtree City, and Chasity N. Prevatt, Fayetteville; grandchildren, Landon, Kalei and Logan Richardson, Peachtree City; father, Ross D. Prevatt, Concord; brothers, Russell and Sharon Prevatt, Fayetteville, and Barry and Vanessa Prevatt, Concord; and mother-in-law, Ellen Crawley, Luthersville. Carl J. Gladys Carson, 78, Fayette County, died Feb. 6, 2010. She was a longtime owner and operator of Jackson General Store. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Jack Lanham officiating. Survivors include her husband, Billy Carson; daughters, Debora Carson, Fayette County, and Vickie and John Zyla, Baltimore, Md.; seven grandchildren; and sisters, Doris and Ed Futyma, Hungtingtown, Md., and Judy and Bruce Bates, Churchton, Md. Benjamin "Ben" Franklin McLaughlin, 73, Fayetteville, died Feb. 6, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Marguerite McLaughlin. He was a native of LaGrange and a graduate of LaGrange College. He worked and later retired from the State of Georgia. Memorial services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev Jimmy Slick officiating.

Frances Maloy Nordlund, 94, Peachtree City, died Feb. 8, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur J. and Nora Bowdon Upchurch, husbands, W. T. Maloy, L. D. Rosser, and Howard Nordlund, and her great-great-grandchild, Ryane Taylor Rush. She was retired from Sears Roebuck with 28 years of service as a retail collection supervisor. She was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church and a member of the Praise Sunday School class. She was a 28 plus year survivor of breast cancer and a longtime volunteer with the Reach to Recovery Program through the American Cancer Society. In honor of her efforts to the Breast Cancer Survivor Network of Fayette County, its library was named for her.

Mildred O. Lasiter, 90, Peachtree City, died Feb. 8, 2010. She was member of the First Baptist Church of Peachtree City and the Seekers Sunday School class. Services were at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home chapel with interment at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Tucker. Survivors include her husband, William H. Lasiter, Peachtree City; a son, Billy and Gail Lasiter, Peachtree City, a daughters, Dianne Lasiter Kalvelage, Peachtree City; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge.

Charlie Vera Frank, 86, died Feb. 9, 2010. She was born July 30, 1923 in Atlanta. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles P. and Vera Lottie Smith, and her husband, Richard P. Frank. She found her name, "Charlie" a source of conversation and even got a draft notice in World War II. She was a prolific reader and also enjoyed driving, wearing out numerous vehicles. She was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Forest Park for over 30 years.

Franklin Delane Tibbetts, Brooks community, died Feb. 11, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Mamie Tibbetts of Dallas, his wife of 21 years, Harmel Vining Tibbetts, and a granddaughter, Tina Tibbetts. Following two years in the United States Army, he attended school at night to study civil engineering and earned an associate degree from Southern Technical Institute. He worked as a draftsman in the mapping and planning department of the Georgia Department of transportation, creating detailed plans for future transportation routes.

Marielyn Strickland, 77, Fayetteville, died Feb. 13, 2010. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with interment at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan. Survivors include sons Wayne Strickland, Concord, and Jeff Strickland, Fayetteville; a daughter, Carol Holland, Senoia; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Carl J. Thomas Hamilton "Tom" Vickery Jr., 83, Griffin, died Feb. 1, 2010. He was born Nov. 17, 1926. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Hamilton and Robbie Burnham Vickery, and sons Ronald Vickery, and Donald Vickery. He served in the United States Merchant Marines and upon returning to civilian life, worked in his father's painting contracting business. He later pursued a career in law enforcement, retiring with the rank of lieutenant after 28 years on the Newnan Police Department. He enjoyed traveling and spending time on Greenwood Lake in Heard County. He was a member of the Sylvan Masonic Lodge and Yaarab Shrine, and the First Christian Church.

Frank T. Coppage, 78, Senoia, died Feb. 2, 2010. He was born June 14, 1931, in Brooks County, Ga. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivy and Katie Dixon Coppage, and six brothers and sisters. He was graduated from Miami, Fla. Edison High School in 1948. He served in the United States Coast Guard. He owned and operated a roof painting company in Miami, and then moved to LaFayette, Ga. in1978 opening a building and supply store which he ran until retirement in 1997. In 2005 he and his wife  moved to Senoia to be closer to family. He enjoyed working outdoors.

Sarah Louise Threadgill, 87, Fayetteville, died Feb. 4, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and three sisters. She was an active member of Fayette Presbyterian Church and a founder of the "Memorial Garden" at the church. Services were at the Fayette Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Cliff Haddox officiating. Interment was at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta.

Margaretta Lucille Lawther, Peachtree City, died Jan. 25, 2010, after a short illness. She was born Feb. 26, 1918 in Pittsburg, Pa., and grew up in Johnstown, Pa., the oldest of eight children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve N. Joseph and Lucy Sopcic Jendricks, her husband, John R. Lawther, and two sisters. She left home at 17 to work at various kinds of jobs, ending her work career in Peachtree City working for several doctors.

Angela Click Britton, 41, Fayetteville, died Jan. 27, 2010. She was born March 16, 1968 in Peru, Ind. She moved to Georgia in 1989 and attended Georgia State University where she received her teaching degree in early childhood education. She was a fourth grade teacher at Peeples Elementary School in Fayetteville. She loved movies, traveling, cooking, music and concerts, stamping, shopping, and vacationing at the beach. She was a torch bearer in Fayette County’s Relay for Life in 2008 and 2009.

Marion C. Handley, 84, Fayetteville, died Jan. 30, 2010. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Handley. He had served in the United States Air Force in the Pacific Theatre in World War II. He was graduated from Concord College, Athens, W. Va., in 1960. He began working for Delta Air Lines in 1960 and later retired in 1990 as a flight controller. He was a member of Fayetteville Presbyterian Church where he was a deacon and an elder.

Irene Estelle Purcell, 78, Fayetteville, died Feb. 1, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband Carroll Purcell, and previous husbands, Bill Hinkle and Sam Stanley, and two grandchildren. Services were at the Fayetteville First Baptist Church, Overton Chapel with the Rev. Glenn Stringham officiating.

William Francis “Bill” Miret, 64, died Feb. 2, 2010, from complications associated with a third battle against cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Francis W. Miret and a brother-in-law, Jerry Bopp. He was born May 8, 1945 in Lynn, Mass. and raised in Revere’s Point of Pines. He attended school at Immaculate Conception and then Southeastern University. He was a 37 year employee of Delta Airlines rising through the ranks to his current position of duty director, OCC.

Julia Glynn Brown, 92, Fayetteville, died Feb. 3, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Wilson Brown. Graveside services were at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, College Park, with the Rev. Dr. Jim Willis officiating.

Sarah Louise Threadgill, 87, Fayetteville, died Feb. 4, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and three sisters. She was an active member of Fayette Presbyterian Church and a founder of the “Memorial Garden” at the church. Services were at the Fayette Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Cliff Haddox officiating. Interment was at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta.

Cynthia S. Whiteman, 55, Newnan, died Jan. 27, 2010. She had taught school in Clayton County for 30 years. During her teaching career she was frequently voted the Most Outstanding Teacher of the Year for her school. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Edwards Sylvester in 1985. Services were at the Peachtree City United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Herzen Andone officiating.

Marion Thelma Stroup, 80, Senoia, died Jan. 28, 2010. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Roberts, and grandson, Michael Roberts. Graveside services were at the Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City.
