Brian William McClainBrian William McClain, Marietta, died Nov. 2, 2009. He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas O. McClain. He was born March 28, 1980 in Shakopee, Minn. He attended the Excel Day Program and was graduated from Osborne High School, Marietta. He was employed at Gold's Gym in Kennesaw. Memorial services were at Mount Olive United Methodist Church, Newnan. Survivors include his mother, Linda McClain; brothers, Darren McClain, Douglas McClain, Mike McClain, and Brad McClain; a grandmother, Irma Tafoya; two uncles; an aunt; house parent, Benny Moreland; six fellow housemates; and staff and friends at Excel Day Program. Roscoe Jenkins Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge. Thomas Allen CarrollThomas Allen Carroll, 86, Moreland, died Nov. 5, 2009. He was born April 15, 1923 in Grantville, one of seven children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Pearly Deloris Payton Carroll, brothers and a sister, and his wife of 60 years, Ruby Foster Carroll. He worked at Trimedge, later Bonnell Company, and also worked for Motor Convoy. Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jerry Eley officiating. Interment was at Southview Cemetery, Moreland. Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Carroll Jones; grandchildren, Blake N. and Ashley Stempson Jones, and Clay A. Jones; and a great-grandchild, Ann Clay. McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge. Robert Thomas WeigandRobert Thomas Weigand Jr.., 59, Senoia , died Nov. 6, 2009. He was a member of the First Assembly of God, Griffin. Services were at the First Assembly of God with the Rev. Dr. Randy Valimont and Pastor Ro Roberson officiating. Survivors include his wife, Linda Weigand; a son, Ryan Weigand, Senoia; a daughter, Shaina Weigand, Senoia; brothers, Kevin Weigand, Perry, and Keith Weigand, Cleveland, Tenn.; and mother, Emma Weigand, Clearwater, Fla. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral home, Peachtree City, was in charge. Carlton Douglas EvansCarlton Douglas Evans, 73, Peachtree City, died Nov. 2, 2009, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born Dec. 16, 1935 in Carroll County, son of the late William Linwood and Ruby Brock Evans. He was the first person in his family to graduate from college and was a member of the first graduating class of the Southern School of Pharmacy, now a part of Mercer University. He owned the Hapeville Drug Company and later the Village Pharmacy in Peachtree City, the last independent pharmacy in the town. If a person could not afford their medication, he would gladly accept home grown vegetables or nothing at all. The Rev. Wilson V. WilliamsThe Rev. Wilson V. Williams, 92, Fayetteville, died Nov. 2, 2009. He was born Sept. 11, 1917 in Memphis, Tenn., and moved to Atlanta in 1939. He served in the United States Merchant Marine in World War II and was retired from Delta Airlines after 35 years of service in 1979. He completed his seminary training at Georgia State University and was pastor of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Villa Rica from 1957 to 1960. He later served as pastor at Starr's Mill Baptist Church and Antioch Baptist Church, both in Fayetteville, and also pastor of Harmony Grove Baptist Church in Union City. He was in the Lord's service for over 40 years. He was a gifted gardener and loved to grow and harvest vegetables with his wife for their friends and family. William Luther HyattWilliam Luther Hyatt, 73, Fayetteville, died Nov. 4, 2009. Graveside services were at the Friendship United Methodist Church cemetery on Hwy. 314, Fayetteville. Bonnie Roberts HahnBonnie Roberts Hahn, Peachtree City, died Nov. 7, 2009. She was born March 25, 1955 in Savannah. She was a graduate of Armstrong State College and had worked in accounting in Savannah and Fayetteville. She was a member of the Peachtree City United Methodist Church. Services were at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, Peachtree City, with services also at the Fox & Weeks Funeral Home chapel, Savannah. Interment was at Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery, Savannah. Michael McElhaneyMichael McElhaney, Newnan, died Oct. 25, 2009. He was born April 20, 1955 in Muscogee County. He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie M. Watson, and oldest sister, Carolyn. He was an avid bid watcher, who enjoyed taking pictures of everything. He thoroughly enjoyed toffee and his bubble gum. His hobbies included flying kites with his children. He was a member of St. John Baptist Church where he attended Bible Study and taking part in discussions. Elaina Makiya ZackeryInfant Elaina Makiya Zackery, died on Oct. 28, 2009. She was born Oct. 12, 2009. Services were at the St. Peter Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Curtis officiating. Interment was at Sunset Cemetery. Survivors include her mother, Kirsten Zackery; father, Calvin Roberts; sister, Alexis Philips; great-grandmother, Christine Meadows; five uncles; four aunts; and 10 cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Lee Clark, and daughter, Darlene New. She had worked for First National Bank, later it became First Atlanta Bank and then Wachovia for 16 years. She was at the West End location and was known to co-workers and customers as "Tillie the Teller." She loved to read, take walks and spend time with her family. Virginia E. WesterfieldVirginia E. Westerfield, 74, Fayetteville, died Oct. 27, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents. Services were at the Fayette Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Cliff Haddox. Interment was private. Melvin Maurice YokeleyMelvin Maurice Yokeley, 75, Hampton, died Oct. 27, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Patricia Yokeley. He was a veteran of the Korean War era and served in the United States Army Airborne. He loved the Lord and served as a deacon at Lovejoy First Baptist Church. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with Pastor Tyson Roache officiating. Interment was at Sherwood Memorial Park, Jonesboro. Pansy Faulkner CampPansy Faulkner Camp, Fayetteville, formerly of Alpharetta, died Oct. 28, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Katherine Richards, husbands, Edwin O. Faulkner Sr., and Thomas E. Camp Jr., and daughter-in-law, Joyce Faulkner. She was retired as the longtime accounts receivable supervisor for Rich's Department Store beginning in 1950. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with interment at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery, Atlanta. Adele D. SpencerAdele D. Spencer, 80, Fayetteville, died Oct. 30. 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Earl Spencer, and two brothers. She was a longtime parishioner of the Catholic Church of Saint Gabriel, and a member of the Golden Threads of St. Gabriel Friends and Neighbors. She served as a volunteer in the Ladies Auxiliary at Piedmont-Fayette Hospital since its beginning. Sara M. WarrenSara M. Warren, 77, Fayetteville, died Nov. 1, 2009 after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. She was dental hygienist and had practiced that profession for over 30 years. She was a lifelong Methodist with a deep and abiding faith. Since 1976 she had been a member of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School class. Services are today, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m. at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Westmoreland, the Rev. Bob Partridge, and the Rev. Lowell Hale officiating. Quincy Martin BohannonQuincy Martin Bohannon, Newnan, died Oct. 11, 2009. He was born Aug. 29, 1956 in Newnan to the late Willie "Skeet" and Eudora Bohannon. He was a member of Mount Sinai Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Ruth Hill Elementary, Central and Newnan High schools. He was a defensive tackle on the Newnan Cougars football team, recording the most tackles for many years. He was elected president of the Student Council, and after high school attended Knoxville College on a full athletic football scholarship. His favorite pastimes included cooking, singing, and watching football. Hural Henderson Sr.Hural Henderson Sr., Newnan, died Oct. 19. 2009. He was born Aug. 19, 1924 to the late Abe and Hassie Hardy Henderson. He was also preceded in death by 21 siblings. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and an ordained minister of the gospel. He was employed by the William L. Bonnell company for many years until retirement. Services were at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Sargent, with the Rev. Melvin Brittian, Eulogist. Interment was at the church cemetery. Clyde FowlerClyde Fowler, Senoia, died Oct. 19, 2009. He was born Dec. 15, 1949 in Senoia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernst Clyde and Geraldine Fowler, and a sister, Carol Fowler Brooks. He was a member of Oak Baptist Church and was a devoted employee of Crooks Super Market for many years. He was a graduate of East Coweta High School, where he won the state one-hundred dash and was a member of the 440 yard relay team. He also played basketball and football, where he was the leading rusher and scorer. Betsill L. PhillipsBetsill L. Phillips, 77, Newnan, died Oct. 21, 2009. He was born Feb. 14, 1932 in Fayette County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Birdie Betsill Phillips, and his wife, Naomi Dale Phillips. He was a veteran of the United states Air Force and was retired from James River Corporation in Newnan. He was a devoted member of Emory Chapel United Methodist Church. David Hiram ChamblessDavid Hiram Chambless, 58, Senoia, formerly of East Point, died Oct. 25, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Eunice Chambless; He was a longtime employee of Russell's Automotive in Hampton. He loved his dogs, loved to read and play the piano and guitar. He also enjoyed working with electronics. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Carl Greene officiating. Interment was at Luthersville City Cemetery. Patricia Leary Warren McMullanPatricia Leary Warren McMullan, 75, Sharpsburg, formerly of Peachtree City, died Oct. 17, 2009. She was born March 29, 1934 in Minneapolis, Minn., daughter of James Donald and Dorothy DeForest Leary. She was preceded in death by her second husband, James McMullan, whom she married in 2000, brothers Donald and Tim Leary, and a daughter-in-law, Laura McDonald Warren. She was graduated from Edina High School and attended Carleton College and the University of Minnesota. Here she met and married David Warren in 1955. Helen CassellHelen Cassell, 83, Fayetteville, died Oct. 18, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Lottie May Curry, two brothers, three sisters. Services were at North Fayette United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Burrell officiating. Interment was at Sharon Memorial Gardens, Tyrone. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Roy D. Cassell, Fayetteville; a daughter, Phoebe S. Schweriner, Peachtree City; granddaughter, Kymberly R. and Shane Davis, Rockmart; great-grandchildren, Tristan, Piper and Chaz Davis; ad brothers, Bob Curry and June Curry. Carl J. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Dalton and Dorothy Priest Bell Sr., and her husband of 58 years, Brad Day. She was a graduate of the Quincy, Mass. School system. She had worked for many years for New England Power Company in Boston. When Northeast Airlines merged with Delta Air Lines, they moved to Riverdale. She had operated a small company, "At Home Typing," in Riverdale and enjoyed meeting the people she came in contact with. Her hobbies include golfing, photography, traveling and she was an avid reader. She was a member of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church and the Fellowship-Discipleship Sunday School Class. Memorial services will be at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church Chapel on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009 at 1 p.m. David A. SmithDavid A. Smith, 85, Peachtree City, died Oct. 19, 2009. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of the VFW. He was also a member of the Cascade Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Peachtree City First Baptist Church. He was retired from Lockheed as an engineer. He had volunteered with Meals on Wheels in Fayette County for over 20 years. Services were at the Peachtree City First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Steve Bingham and the Rev. Randall Johnson officiating. Interment was at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta. Trausdelee Pauline SewellTrausdelee Pauline "Lee" Sewell, Bledsoe County, Tenn., formerly of Fayetteville, died Oct. 19, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Pearl Ogilvie, and her husband of over 50 years, Irvin Sewell. She was one of ten children. She was born in Wilcox County and was graduated from Pineview High School, where she was a basketball player. She was a longtime member of the Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener who specialized in geraniums and other perennials. She loved listening to music and being with her family. William Harold TaylorWilliam Harold Taylor, 90, Fayetteville, formerly of East Point, died Oct. 21, 2009.He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Willie Mae Taylor, who died in 2003. He was a veteran of World War II and served at Pacific Fleet Headquarters under Admiral Chester Nimitz. He was later assigned to United States Naval Intelligence in San Diego. He was retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Company with 33 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Fayetteville, and a former lifelong member of First Baptist Church of East Point. He was a member of the East Point Masonic Lodge #288 F&AM for over 50 years. He was a past president of the East Point Lions Club, a charter member of the East Point Historical Society, and served as treasurer and a member of its board of directors, as well as a director of East Point Chamber of Commerce. Services were at the Fayetteville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Stringham officiating. Interment was at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta. Brenda Sue RussellBrenda Sue Russell, 55, Fayetteville, died Oct. 21, 2009. She loved her Lord Jesus Christ and displayed it in her daily walk of life. Survivors include her husband, Donald Lee Russell, Fayetteville; a son, Eric Russell, Fayetteville; a daughter, Tracy and David Murray, Fayetteville; grandchildren, Matthew Murray, Gabby Murray, Isaac Murray, and Sierra Murray, all of Fayetteville; mother, Marjorie King, Williamsburg, Ky.; and a brother, Ronald King, Mt.
