When the mayor openly said he wanted more big box stores and the TDK Extension, he opened Pandora's box. Now we are going to get riddled with requests like the "NEW and IMPROVED" Lowes proposal.

I read the “$1 billion in new tax revenue up for vote in Coweta” story and was shocked to see a local Peachtree City company on board to help the developer build Peachtree City’s traffic nightmare.

Maybe there is hope that the tide is turing on the forces of profiteering. The Super Logsdon Lowes was shot down by the planning commission. Even Logsdon is running for the hills on that one.

The Tour de Georgia has a new dubious high. The broken down bike race is now asking the state legislature for a $1 million bailout!

Look guys, the Doug blogger is absolutely right. Cele, no matter how wonderful she might be, is turning her back on the problem. Don’t blame Mr. Sweat and the FCBOE for having to play musical chairs with the local students.

Direct PAC blogger Mudcat is saying Steve Brown solicited bribes, really.

The little bed wetter Mudcat can’t stop whining about Steve Brown. Oh yes, every letter writer to the editor is a covert attempt by the former mayor to secretly overthrow the Direct PAC’s plan to clog our roads, stuff their pockets and keep the little people down.

Enough already! Sometimes you can't escape the stupid things you do in life. Now Voice of Fayette wants to take a little more blood from my veins with the post below.

What happens when we let Direct PAC, Bob Lenox and a lying Mayor Logsdon have control of our city?

The four quotes below come out of a single edition of the newspaper. Didn't Logsdon and Steven Boone promise to keep the high quality standards of our community? What happened?

The Chamber of Commerce's Small Business awards luncheon was a huge success. In addition to the small business award winners, the Chamber was also recognized in several categories:

This one just blows me away. This guy Jim Stinson – whoever in the heck he is – writes a trashy letter to the editor about Steve Brown. That’s his right, sure thing. But the part that gets me is that this Stinson guy openly admits in a blog on this site that the quotes he attributed to Brown weren’t Brown’s. Stinson says he was assigning the quotes to Brown because he “associates” those words with Brown. Isn’t that special.

I have been questioned by some and ripped by others about my "Vote Republican (except Westmoreland)" tag on my posts.

The developer crowd is terrified of Steve Brown. It’s evolving into some kind of mental disorder with Robert W. Morgan and Pandora. Just because they keep screwing things up like the development authority corruption, buying dumps from their friends with our tax dollars, ultra-high density projects, our sewer into Coweta, etc. they get angry for being exposed. These desperate people get anxious because their over bloated financial future is at stake.

AJC’s Wooten Hit Home Run on High Density Development(again)

I’ll admit it right off the bat, I’ve never been a big fan of the AJC’s token conservative Jim Wooten. His usual column is full of bullet points and no serious commentary. However, Wooten is lighting a fire on the high density development issue and we need to pay attention to what he’s got to say.

Boy oh boy is Mike Hofrichter a whopping hyoocrite. He and his developer friends trash Steve Brown in every public forum imaginable over TDK and then he changes his mind on building the road without even the slightest hint of an apology to Brown.

Blogger Logsdon Report nailed Mayor Harold Logsdon in another web of falsehood.

Logsdon Report has a recent quote (AJC, 8/17/06) with Logsdon saying, "Property owners are initiating the annexation bids, not the city."

Cal Beverly, Editor and Publisher, you were exactly correct. I feel like the guy in Vegas who plopped all his winnings down on a number and then wish he hadn’t. Dinner tables all over Peachtree City are going to be serving crow on a stick, small potatoes, mushed corn.

AJC’s Wooten - Straight Talk on Development

Jim Wooten’s column in the August 22 edition of the AJC entitled “High-density growth makes knots tighter” is a perfect commentary on Peachtree City’s Westside annexation and the tumultuous development efforts on our border in Coweta County. I think we'd better pay attention.

The developers work solely for their own enrichment, driven by a profit motive. No, Mudcat, I'm not condeming all developers as some truly look at how they can work with and improve the community via their projects.

Robert Horgan voted decidedly anti-annexation regarding a landowners attempt to annex a 16-acre tract on Trickum Creek Road into Tyrone. Horgan to this point, has been a slow growth advocate.

We have a few bloggers that want to bow down and worship the Almighty Developer, the holy one that created Peachtree City. It was really several different developers and an insurance company who shaped the development of the city. The Equitable Life Assurance Company was the BEST THING that ever happened to Peachtree City, not the developers. The original developer, including first mayor Joel Cowan, had some pretty wild plans, including 80,000 residents, traffic gridlock and crowded schools. Their concept was to have a self sustaining city, create mass jobs and mass housing for labor, definitely not a bedroom community. They were aiming for blue collar jobs and a blue collar housing market (Gwinnett and Clayton County style). However, they failed and the Equitable ended up holding the bag due to default.

I don't know where McDonoughDawg and the others came up with this "if Peachtree City doesn't annex and develop the westside, we're all doomed" mentality. Then there's the second flaw in the rationale, "If not Peachtree City, then Tyrone will do it." How does anyone know this? For starters, there's a huge quarry operation between Tyrone's infrastructure and the westside property in question. It wouldn't be a smooth transition for Tyrone at all. Tyrone is just an excuse to go for the higher density, good old boy style.
