Are you doing OK? Thinking about you.

d.smith700: Moonbeam McSwine

Sadie Hawkins Day celebrations must have faded out. Li'l Abner maybe got caught by Moonbeam! Mammy Yokum did leave us Dwight, but the Parson didn't seem to be hitched!

eodnnaenaj1: Banning Baggy Britches,

eodnnaenaj1's picture

I see the Atlanta School Board has decided to ban this goofey way of dressing. Did anyone else see and hear and catch this phrase when news was questionsing a student about his thoughts; this young fellow said it was unfair or something, because - "we buy 'em big so we can grow into them". Huh? Let's see, these tall, slender teenage boys would have to grow at what percentage rate to ever "grow into" these britches.

d.smith700: Bo Diddly elections

I'll sure be glad when these diddling elections are over with this year.
These local dog catcher elections (and judges) are for the vulture birds.

John M: There's no match on the issues

I got a copy of Steve Brown’s campaign flyer attached to my mailbox today. One side had quotes of support from Dan Lakly’s family, the new Tyrone mayor and the two new city councilmen from PTC.

Nitpickers: Downtown West Peachtree City

Just how many more traffic lights, tanning salons and nail treaters can be built on the extreme edge of West Peachtree City?

Sniffles: The Great Debate for 12/10/07: Socialized Medicine

Sniffles's picture

We have a number of well-educated folks here from all sorts of political persuasions. I thought I'd see if a good old fashioned debate might work in these forums.

the_assassin: Steve Brown and TDK ... what he doesn't want you to remember

the_assassin's picture

Steve Brown was SO opposed to TDK that he voted several times to FUND it! That was when he was mayor of PTC for four years.

Shelby Barker: Ok, this is pushing it

Shelby Barker's picture

So I sat down tonight expecting to watch a Republican presidential debate, I knew it was on a spanish channel but some how I was wishing I could access an english version- nope. It is absured to exclude the majority of Americans from watching a live Presidential debate, simply to appeal to the spanish speaking people.

bowser: Newsflash: God endorses Huck

Well, the "Christian Leader" ad spot must have found a bigger target market than we thought.

Asked at a speech what explains his recent rise in the polls, Huckabee implied that God is now officially on his side:

d.smith700: After careful research

I find that there are still two corners in PTC that do not have either a liquor store or a bar in a restaurant on them, or within 500 feet.

kjam: Damage to yards during the night

kjam's picture

Just checking to see if any one other than myself & my neighbor woke up this morning to find damage done to their yards during the night. Damage was: A small vehicle or truck decided to drive thru both of our yards, leaving tire markings and "doughnut" circles. We spoke to the FCSO Deputy this afternoon, and he was shocked to see how it was done & how no house was damaged.

snapfinger: Shame on the new State Bank of Georgia

The new State Bank of Georgia on Gingercake Road advertised a special five month CD rate of 6% plus your age (example 6.55%), with a $1,000 min and $25,000 max.

the theory has been proposed that sniffles is our old "friend" basmati, what's the consensus of the boards?

dollaradayandfound: The weeks's oddities

Before I go for a while I wanted to scribe out for you some weird ones this week:
Candidate Romney fired his gardener due to someone complaining that some of them were illegal aliens. He had the same trouble last year but the company he had hired assured him they would fix the problem. He said that he had no way of knowing whether they were illegal or not since he had not ask them; therefore it wasn't his fault.

Bonkers: Always somebody, The Citizen

wanting those they don't like booted! One person on this site has gathered up all of the differently named blogs and decided that they should be either removed or at least separated from his good ones! Good ones meaning the way he thinks!

Cal,

I've read so many very interesting blogs on this website, that I can't imagine giving you an accurate number. The fact is, I rarely read the paper, but I do frequently check your website.

Young Lover O F...: Brown picks up support from Sturbaum

I was told that newly elected Doug Sturbaum is also backing Steve Brown for the House District 72. He's picking up a lot of the newly elected local officials because the people are just plain sick of government neglect.

SoccerRef: A Southern Thang?

SoccerRef's picture

I just don't get it when political candidates stand on the roadside mornings and evenings waving at drivers with their political "Vote for Me" signs nearby. Do they really think that it helps them when people go to the polls? Does it in fact make a voter want to vote for them?

Shelby Barker: Good Question

Shelby Barker's picture

Although I support Mike, I do believe Mitt's recent speech was very well said. I do not believe that it was necessary, because I think people are swarming to Huckabee simply because he is the better candidate not because Mitt's a Mormon.
