A Southern Thang?

I just don't get it when political candidates stand on the roadside mornings and evenings waving at drivers with their political "Vote for Me" signs nearby. Do they really think that it helps them when people go to the polls? Does it in fact make a voter want to vote for them?

Frankly, I think it belittles them, the voters and the whole political process to see them doing this election aftyer election.
