muddle: What Everyone is Required to ThinkDid that title grab your attention? Here are some rules or guidelines for avoiding muddled (heh!) thinking. RULE #1: There is such a thing as the way things really are that obtains independently of what anyone happens to believe about the way they are. MajestySeeker: Food Depot Scam? Did you know???The other day we were shopping at Food Depot in Fayetteville (unfortunately) and I noticed that on the receipt the Food Depot charges all customers a 10% Upcharge (not a tax) the tax was on there too!!!Just wondering if any of you knew that, it was a suprise to me, there aren't any signs anywhere...So if you spend $100 on groceries, your bill will be $110 plus tax!?!#% Hi There: PTC POLICE CHEIF MURRYI heard second hand (within the system), PEACHTREE CITY POLICE CHEIF MURRY was told to RETIRE OR BE FIRED!! Allegedly Chief Murry became “fresh” with some ladies who we not interested in his advances. Cyclist: Congressional SpendingCyclist: New Orleans' HousingHUD wants to demolish low income housing units and offer an opportunity for private investment money to rebuild housing that has been vacant since Hurricane Katrina. Wouldn't you know it, some don't want that. Read to see more. thebeaver: 18 Months?Mom Confesses to Crime Spree Sniffles: Poor Ann CoulterAnn Coulter's 15 minutes of fame appear to be just about up. Her latest book, "If Democrats had any brains, etc" debuted at #1 but rapidly fell out of the top ten. It was on the NY Times bestseller list for a scant 4 weeks and has sold 97,000 copies. It is now at #178 nationwide. Kevin Wandra: My Christmas wish listChristmas always has been my favorite holiday. The food, fun and time spent with my beloved family are the top three reasons I cherish Christmas. grrrrrr: Blockbuster up to tricks again!!I can't believe Blockbuster is raising the 3-per membership fee again.. this time by 40%! I'm finally making the move to Nitpickers: bprI don't think you can be as naive as you pretend! Bonkers: Turkey is now bombing IraqIs that the same as bombing us? Turkey is trying to kill the Kurds in northern Iraq, who they say have been acting as bandits on the Turkish border. Don't really know why! The Kurds are Persian, I think--or came from there long ago, anyway, and have in the long past been occupied by the Romans for hundreds of years and the Arabs once for some time. doggoneit: Reason PrevailsI found the best dictionary available, yet searched in vain. Nowhere was “developer” defined as “one who chooses onlyrealcat: from onlyrealcat to allPlusieurs de vous aiment critiquer mon épellation et grammaire. Peut-être vous voudriez tenir cette conversation en ma langue maternelle ainsi nous pouvons employer la grammaire correcte. Mon intention est de mettre l'information en évidence. Je suis désolé que mon anglais soit déficient. LogicAndPhilosophy: Ramsey WinsOpps, my error. It's state rep not US rep. Lack of turn out is still disgraceful. Back to the point, Ramsey's first course of action will be to determine how to keep the seat in future elections. It will begin by providing handouts to those likley to vote for him and provide funds in the next election. onlyrealcat: teacher chocked my neice!a certain high school teacher chocked my neice but i see it did not make the paper. i guess if you the principle and you assistant get drunk and you coach tests your student than a teacher chocking someone aint no big deal. Christian: The way I see it: this election was absolutely about TDKWhy would a group of prominent developers, lawyers, real estate, and mortgage people spend over $40,000 to get their candidate elected when they knew the only serious challenger (Steve Brown) would be spending NOTHING. I think there is one simple answer: making sure the TDK bridge and extension get built. John Munford: Does anyone care to vote anymore? For such an educated populace we have here in Fayette County, we sure don't seem to have a grasp on democracy. In the election for the 72nd District seat on the House of Representatives, a mere 11.1 percent of the voters bothered to show up and cast their ballots. Bonkers: Philosophy & the PresidentIt just dawned upon me what a speech from Muddle might sound like if he were President of th USA.: Michael Boylan: Daily Citizen Special !Mike Boylan and John Munford discuss the results of the special election and the candidacy of Wayne Hannah for sheriff. muddle: The Moral Argument: What I Am NOT ArguingA recent exchange with a blogger here convinced me that some people react rather than reflect. Instead of making an attempt at an actual assessment of my argument (or simply ignoring it because it is admittedly long), this blogger chose to project views on me that I neither harbored nor launched. Oscar Wilde said, "If you cannot answer a man's arguments, don't panic. You can always insult him." Typically, "answering a man's arguments" calls for understanding them. Our blogger chose to skip the middle man and go straight for the insult part. Cyclist: A Couple of Bicycle Mechanicson December 17, 1903 discovered powered flight. It wasn't a government or a nation pouring money into a program but it was simply two individuals chasing a dream. NUK_1: Election results 12/18Well, someone forgot to tell Fayette County gov that there was an election today for district 72. Their website last latest new has municipal run-off election on 12/4. DUH. hutch866: TUGRetiredArmyMAJ: Who else voted?I just got back from the polls and at my precinct the workers said turn out was only about 10% That is SAD. I have vowed to vote in EVERY election. If you don't vote, you have no right to complain later, Jones: Spillman Family: Blog on Ramsey v BrownLet’s talk about the election in much different way than the negative mud slinging of the paid Ramsey blogers. Many on this site and people like the reporter from the AJC said Steve Brown is more polished and has more experience than the other candidates. CCB: The House ElectionIt was a real disappointment to see how Matt Ramsey's people plastered signs all over the Fayetteville First Unitied Methodist Church. Bonkers: Food shortagesI heard the darndest thing today on TV news about how the oil prices have created food shortages! Nitpickers: The 1.7 million $A blogger today said the money above, borrowed by the Tennis Center and a Tennis Pro, (my words) went to developers! Just when I think I know where it went (I understand the books were no good at the old authority)someone else says it went another place! pentapenguin: Bloggers' Coffee Meeting This Week?I know with the holidays coming up, everybody is busy, but would anybody want to have another Bloggers' Coffee Meeting? If so when and where? I'd like to do the "new" (i.e. old Fuddruckers) Starbucks in front of Publix in PTC on Friday around 12 noon (1200 hours, Hack ). Or we could do someplace/some time else if that's not convenient.... Michael Boylan: Muddle and gratefuldoc.... |
